Many many mistakes were made that one fateful night at Grimmauld Place, but perhaps one could argue, the biggest, and first, was when the parents all decided to go out for dinner, leaving the children home alone, with only Teddy and Victorie there to watch over them.
"Goodbye! Be safe, have fun, love you!" Hermione Granger called out to her children as she entered her car, heading to the restraunt just a few streets away.
The other parents all called out similar things, as they too, entered their cars. Victorie, the second eldest of the group, and one of the two adults left in charge, did her best to reassure them, that they indeed would be safe. She shut the door behind her, ushering her cousins and friends back into the living room.
"Right everyone, what do we want for dinner?" She asked, looking down at her watch "Its about 6:30, so we really should start getting ready. I think aunt Ginny left some food in the fridge for us to cook up if you want that?"
The group all muttered what appeared to be sounds of somewhat agreement, but then again, you never could really tell with that bunch, they were more interested in the latest news in the world One Direction than they were in what would be for dinner.
Victorie shook her head fondly, and mumbled something about 'kids these days, honestly' before going with Teddy into the kitchen.
Everything seemed to be going as per expected, the kids all held basic conversations with their respective friend groups, the few couples in the room, sharing sneaky glances and the occasional blown kiss, and the adults were cooking dinner, blissfully unaware of what series of unfortunate events were about to unfold.
"I'm just gonna go to the bathroom" announced Frank, as he stood up from the ottoman he had been sitting it. The others once again murmed their acknowledgement, but weren't paying much attention. Well aside from young Lily Luna, who had popped her head up from reading an article about the latest film her true love and idol Mr Harry Styles was rumored to be starring in. She glanced around the room, taking in what each of her cousins, and her cousins friends, were doing. There was Alice, who was perched on Dominique's lap, having her long dirty blonde hair French braided as she painted her nails, Dominique, who was doing the braiding, and Scorpius, who was sat next to the pair reading a curiously large book on herbology, but looking up every once and awhile to exchange glances and sly (not so sly) grins at Albus. Albus, was doing almost the same as his friend, reading a once again curiously large book, but this time about transfiguration and its usefulness throughout history. She then scanned her eyes in the other direction, toward Rose, who was sitting in a rather odd manner, at the end of the couch, making some final touches to the watercolor painting that she'd been working on and refused to show anyone. Lastly, was Louis and Roxanne, who were sitting next to her, on their phones. Louis was on tiktok unsurprisingly, and Roxanne was texting her friends from Hogwarts. Oh and of course the two residenant twats, Fred and James, who were playing with a timeturner-
"WAIT PLAYING WITH A TIME TURNER?!"
All the Weasley's, Potters and others (or Wotters and co as they liked to call themselves) whipped their heads in the direction of the exclamation, which of course had come from Lily who'd just realised what on earth her brother and cousin were doing.
