~Crash~
For such a small piece of metal, it did make quite the noise when it hit the ground. Along with the hiss of pain from Alice's mouth. For a moment, that hiss distracted everyone from what was going on, Dominique at least, was far more concerned about Alice than she was about a broken time turner on the floor. The cut was only small, but the glass had been very sharp, and cut quite deep. Victorie, much like her sister, was very worried about Alice, but in more of a protective way, than the reason Dom was worried. She quickly rushed over, and pulled a bandaid out of the side drawer next to the couch the girls (Dom and Alice) were sitting on. Her true maternal instinct kicking in, she helped mend Alice's hand as efficiently as possible, while also managing to yell a full lecture at James about how irresponsible he was. Just at this moment, a flushing of a toilet could be heard from upstairs, signifying how short of a time this had all really happened in, considering Frank was only now finishing in the bathroom. Unluckily for them though, the timing of said flush was rather unfortunate, as it had distracted them, from the ominous buzzing noises radiating from the small, and now shattered, gold pendent on the carpet. Not a single member of the house hold, not guest nor resident noticed this, until far, far too late. And I'm sorry to say, but that could've been perhaps, the worst thing to have happened given these circumstances. No one could've prepared the friends for what was to come, no matter how many books Rose and Lily had read, no matter what Roxanne had read on the internet, nothing. It was slow at first, then all at once. First the buzzing grew louder, and louder, then it began to vibrate, then shake violently, by now it had gained the attention of everyone nearby, other than poor Frank, who had just finished washing his hands and was about to head downstairs once again, but on second thought, maybe he was lucky. The shaking grew more and more violent, until it began to take over, the buzzing, so loud you would have to yell to be heard, but no one needed to, because they were all in too much shock to react. Then, what appeared to be an earthquake. The first thing anyone could think of, was run, to the front door, get away as quick as possible. As they ran, they had just made it to the bottom of the stairs, when a bright white light flashed, blinding them all for just a moment. Then one final shake, and a crash, and they all fell the the floor, now blinded once again, but this time by darkness. No one knew what to do now. There was no longer a deafening buzzing, but instead a deafening silence. No noise, no movement, no sight, it was as if they were paralysed. Of course, the others surrounding them, they were just a bunch of children in a pile, but they did not know that. No one could yell out, no one could move, no one could hear, or see, or feel. Is this what death feels like? Lily wondered, unaware that the others she was with were thinking that exact same thing. It was James who was first to click, to realise he was indeed not dead. He was in pain. He could not feel, but he was in pain. This isn't death he thought, death is painless, quicker and easier than falling asleep. And although yes, he was correct, he'd soon learn, that perhaps, the fate he has received, and consequently inflicted upon his family and friends, is much worse then that of death.
