Chapter 12: Not quite...

We flew to the village as fast as we could. As soon as we land we see in full how bad it was. People were evacuating and running around as houses and stands were on fire. Kids were crying, some were screaming, it was a disaster.

Zuko stops an older women and asks her who did this and what happened. Her answer was bone chilling: "It was young lady with several other men.... she spoke loudly in front of the whole town saying things like 'I am the rightfull ruler of the fire kingdom,' and 'Join me or else.' There was only a few who did: they acted like they knew everything about her cause and were very persistant to join. After that, she got mad and told us that the rest of us were weak and pathetic....and that's when it started....they all started to set our homes on fire and wrecking everything...." The lady sobbed in dispear and hurried off. Zuko clenched his teeth and turned to us.

"Ok, this is what we need to do. Aang, Katara and Ara. You work on putting out the fires. Sokka, Toph, and I will try and see what else we can find out... And who knows, maybe she's still near..." A sickening feeling forms in the pit of my stomache from those words. Everyone nods and Sokka, Toph, and Zuko run off. Aang looks around quickly and find a well. They run over quickly and bend the water out of the well and on some of the burning houses. I stand there in amazement. I've never seen such powerful bending.

I look around and see a near by stand on fire and a man trying to put it out. I rush over to it and use my air bending on it in an attempt to put it out. But instead of helping, I just made it worse by making the fire bigger. The man looked at my confused and angrily.

"I don't know what you were trying to do but you only made it worse. Go away, you're no help!" He yelled and shooed me away. I went away and looked around at everything on fire. I knew I was going to be no help. Air only makes fire bigger. I fell to my knees and looked up in the sky.

Mom...Pop....What am I suppose to do? I'm useless.

At that moment, two little birds flew high up into the sky and right over the village. And it hit me. I gasped and whispered to myself.

"Zuko and the others. I can help them!" I hurriedly stood up and ran to Appa, grabbing my glider. I then hurried and swooped into the air with one large bound. Flying high over head, I look around quickly at every place near by. Then I see what seemed to be several carriages moving away from the village into the woods. As I get closer I see that it is Azula and her men. I widen my eyes and my heart thumps in my chest. I quickly go back to the village and search for Zuko, Sokka and Toph. After a minute, I find them frantically looking around the village. I land by them and panically tell them.

"It's Azula!! S-she's just outside the village! We can catch up to her if we hurry!" They all look at me surprised and then realizing what I said, we all run in the direction I saw them.

After a minute of running, we finally catch up with them. And on the last carriage, standing on the back, was no other then Azula herself.

"Azula!!" Zuko yells angerly. The carriages stop and Azula looks our way, at first surprised but then a evil smirk formed on her face. All the guards stand ready, prepared if we attack.

"Well well well. It's no other then little Zu-Zu. And of course the pathetic friends of his. Oh and look, you even managed to pick up another one..." She looks me up and down with a disgusted look on her face. "She doesn't look like much does she. You really do just pick up whatever you can scavenge, Huh Zu-zu?" A wave of anger goes over me. I see Sokka take a few steps forward, with an enraged look on his face, but I stop him before he can get very far. Azula notices Sokka looking like he was about to attack. She laughs evilly. "What are you gonna do Sokka? Through your boomerang at me?" She laughs more. Sokka slightly grumbles and clenches his fist.
