Chapter 9: Zuko

After flying around for a bit we land in the city of Ba Sing Se. I couldn't believe how many people and buildings and houses there were! I've never been in a city like this, or any city for that matter.

We get off Appa and a smile stretches on my face.

"Wow! This place is amazing! I've never been in a city before." I say excitedly. Everyone looks over to my in surprised.

"You mean you've NEVER been in any kind of city before?..." Toph asked. I shrug and shake my head.

"My parents always thought it was not safe."

"Well you don't have to worry now! You're safe with us." Sokka says with a reassuring thumbs up. I smile at them warmly.

"Alright, so before we head out we need to get some supplies." Aang says with a more serious tone. "Me, Sokka, and Toph will go get things like blankets, coats, those kinds of things. Ara and Katara will go get some food and water and then later meet up with Zuko. We'll meet up here later." Zuko?.....why does that sound so familiar?

I nod to Aang without questioning anything. After that we go our separate ways for the time being. I walk besides Katara, looking around at all the shops and stands excitedly with my staff in hand. I wanted to stop at every stand but I knew we had to get supplies so I just kept walking.

"So Katara, Aang's your boyfriend right?" I say, looking over at her. A slight blush goes on her face.

"Um.... Y-yeah you could say that. Hey, I was going to say that I should worn you... Sokka can be kind of an idiot sometimes. So if he says or does anything stupid, just give him a little smack on the head." We both kinda laugh for a second.

"Oh well, I think he's sweet.... He.. He actually was the first friend I've ever had. I'm really glad I met him..." I realize what I'm saying and quickly snap out of it. "B-but yeah, he is a boy so I'm sure he'll do something stupid." I slightly laugh as I look over to Katara....but there was no Katara. "Huh?.....Katara?" I look around and don't see her anywhere. "Katara?!" A panicking feeling builds inside of me. Did she turn a corner and I didn't realize it? Did she stop at a stand? I go back in the direction I came from and come to an intersection. I look both left and right. No sign of her.

I'm lost, in Ba Sing Se, by myself........oh crap.

Katara's POV

"Um.... Y-yeah you could say that. Hey, I was going to say that I should worn you... Sokka can be kind of an idiot sometimes. So if he says or does anything stupid, just give him a little smack on the head." I say and kinda laugh.

"Oh well, I think he's sweet...-" Ara began to say when suddenly I was jerked and pulled in between to buildings where it was shady. I tried to yell but I hand was placed over my mouth, now knowing it was a guy. I tried to fight back but he was pretty strong.

"Katara! It's me!" He loudly whispered, turning me so I could now see his face under his dark hood. I stop fighting and he slowly removed him hand.

"Zuko?!" I said surprised.

"Shhhh! Don't be so loud! I'm the Fire Lord now.... It's really hard for me to go in public without everyone either bowing or cheering. I just don't want to be noticed."

"Well that explains the red and black robe in the middle of summer time." I say crossing my arms.

"Whatever. So where are the others?"

"Well Aang, Sokka, and Toph went to get some supplies and Me and Ara-" I then gasp, realizing that I left Ara. "Ara!! I left her in the market! S-she doesn't know her way around!" I yell as I go back into the open.
