Part 3
The sudden ring of the doorbell from the entrance broke the atmosphere in the room. Our lips would have touched given a couple of seconds, but Kei hesitated and drew back with a red face.
"Eh?... The door?
"Give me a moment."
"Ah, sure.."
Although a quick glance in my room from the entrance would make it seem like I was alone as Kei's shoes were hidden in the cabinet, if someone were to enter, they would immidiently be able to confirm the existence of another student with me.
I had prepared a number of excuses for certain situations beforehand for specific people, but I could not think of anyone who could've been at my door. I did not have that many friends and acquaintances and those I did know all had a low chance of being on the other side of the door.
Most people in the Ayanokouji group were busy, and I had just been with Horikita earlier so those options were quickly eliminated. Ike and Sudo seemed to be keeping their distance from me since discovering that I was holding back so the chance of one of them being here was small. My thoughts were then interrupted by a sweet voice.
"Senpaaiii~"
Red-hair could be seen from the peephole followed by a familiar voice. These were the first clues I got, but they were more than enough for me to guess who was on the other side.
"It's mee~"
Amasawa's voice seemed to be filled with confidence as if she knew I was inside.
She was a first year in class A, and I had my doubts about her especially when she helped Housen with his previous plot. I expected her to keep her distance after that, but my expectations were betrayed beautifully.
"How did you get into the 2nd year dorms?"
"I stumbled into a senpai on his way back so I decided to tag along to give you a visit."
"Why suddenly?"
"I was worried about your hand and came to check on you."
She did not even try hiding the fact that she was involved with Housen and came right to the point.
"Well my hand is fine, its beginning to heal so can you come back another day? I'm tired from class today."
"Tired huh? It's only evening."
"I've had a rough day, besides what would people think if I brought a kouhai into my room at this time?"
The excuses I gave had 2 goals, first was to try and give a valid enough reason for her not to come so she would leave, and second was to gage her reaction and confirm whether she had any ulterior motives. If she was telling the truth, she should have left with that, but if she was here for another reason, she would stay.
"Well I was hoping you could cook for me, so... can you please unlock this?"
She slid her fingers on the outline of the U-lock, this was the only thing preventing her from barging in, although it probably made it look more suspicious.
"I don't have any ingredients so unfortunately I can't cook for you, if you want, I could get ready and we could get some."
This wasn't technically a lie, since my fridge was empty as I hadn't had time to shop for groceries this week.
"Oh don't worry about that, wait here"
After going out of sight and coming back, I could see that she had bags filled with ingredients. It seemed like she really wanted to come inside, and no matter what excuse I made, she could counter.
