“I've never been to a place like this before.” I heard Sunoo mumble from behind me.

“Really?” Yuna asked, a bit shocked. “Why? Doesn't your family go to travel?”

“I had an illness when I was a kid. I'm physically weak. I just got the surgery last year.” he pouted and walked towards the lake.

“Do you see that?” Jake pointed his finger on something white on the other side of the lake.

“It looks like a house to me.” Nicholas squinted his eyes like it could help him see the thing clearer.

“Let's check the house.” Jay rolled his sleeves up and started running with Niki and Sunoo. They really are going to check it out.

“I don't think we should… go there,” Yeonjun mumbled.

“You're just scared. Don't be.” Yuna teased him. She was laughing at first but then she stopped. “I'm scared just like you but eonni's with us. She will protect us, right eonni?”

“Yeah yeah, whatever.” we held hands and ran together. The three of us were the last to leave the dock.

Everybody else was already checking the exterior of the house. The house looked abandoned, but it still looked fine.

“Should we enter? I wanna see what's inside.” Geonu walked up to the door and tried to open it but he stopped because he doesn't wanna go in there alone.

“No… don't go in.” I heard Yeonjun's fading voice beside me. The guys didn't hear him say it so everyone went inside when Jay and Sunghoon finally got it open.

“Guys, I think we shouldn't go in there,” I spoke. All of them looked at me including Yuna, and she had pleading eyes. “Fine.” I gave up and let them explore the house.

“Don't worry eonni. We won't steal anything. We'll just look around for a bit.”

“Do y'all realize this is actually trespassing.” I laughed at Lali's reaction. She sounded so serious.

“But it's abandoned. It's fine, I guess.” Jungwon opposed Lali. I could see Lali glaring at Jungwon right now.

“Yeonjun-ah. Do you wanna stay here? Do you feel sick? Let's go home if you don't feel so well.” he didn't look at me and just sat down on a log near the front porch.

“If you wanna go in, go follow them. I'll stay here,” he said, hugging his knees.

“Okay.”

I entered the house and heard Lali and Jungwon laughing about something in the kitchen. It looks like everyone's in there. Instead of joining them, I went upstairs to check out the rooms.

“Well, for an abandoned house, I'd give this a 6/10.” The dust from the railings came in contact with my fingers. If you subtract the dust and cobwebs, the house looks great.

There's another room at the end of the hallway. The door was closed but I wanted to check it out. Okay, why am I not scared yet? I'm suspicious. Okay, I'm getting really scared of myself now.

This idiot really is talking to herself right now.

I reached for the knob but before I could even twist it, I heard loud shouts coming from the first floor.

“What the hell was that!?”

“I shouldn't have followed Geonu hyung!”

“You're scaring yourself ahahaha! There was nothing in there!”

“What's going on?” right after I shouted out, everyone screamed saying that they heard someone but there's no one there.

Idiots, it's just me!

Sunoo's voice started to fade. All I hear now is them running away.

Wait they left me!

I ran downstairs and opened the door. Before twisting the knob, I looked back inside the house.

And I saw something.

Or maybe it is someone.

Oh, shit don't tell me we just disturbed a ghost or something?

But he looked… nice.

I twisted the knob, ran out, and almost tripped because of the rag placed on the door.

I'll pretend I didn't see anything.

“Saeji!” I straightened myself and saw Sunghoon running to me. “I came back for you. I thought you were running with us. Where were you?”

“I was on the second floor.”

You didsee a damn ghost, Saeji. That's just a mannequin or something.

“You were in there alone?”

“Yes. I got scared of myself when I realized that I wasn't scared of exploring alone haha!” how on earth are you so good at lying?

“Ask me next time to come with you.” he smiled. “Yeonjun hyung was the first one to notice that you weren't with us. And he kinda gave us a ‘what the hell where's my sister' look.”

Sunghoon and I joined them at the dock. They kept on picking flat rocks and throwing it horizontally on the water, making the rocks bounce a few times before sinking.

“The guys almost peed their pants when Sunghoon and Jake stood behind a cabinet, telling us it wasn't them but it's them.” Lali and Yuna laughed while they tell me what happened.

“Jungwon got scared that he kept blaming Geonu oppa for asking us to come with him hahaha!”

I laughed with them, almost forgetting about what had happened to me earlier. I don't think I should tell them what I saw. Knowing these people, they scare themselves. It would leave us all in an awkward silence so it's better for me not to bother them with this.

I'll go check again tomorrow. Hopefully, he's harmless and is just a normal ghost lurking around his house.
