There were a few tears here and there as Prince Edward, Zain and I put all of the ready made items in the packing boxes.

It didn't take quite as long as I would have thought.

We got everything packed away before lunch time.

Seeing the boutique empty, was an uneasy feeling for me.

My grandmother had made this boutique, and me, her life.

I wasn't sure if I could pack up the apartment.

"Why don't we take a break, Your Royal Highness," Zain stood next to me then. "Anyway, it's lunch time. I'm sure we're a bit hungry after all that we did," He added, assessing the two different piles of packing boxes.

"Let's get some food from bakery next door," Prince Edward offered, putting his suit jacket back on.

"I think it would be wise if I grabbed all of us something to eat, Your Royal Highness," Zain suggested.

"Yeah, I'm not sure if we should make a scene," I agreed with Zain.

Prince Edward's shoulders slouched, which made me laugh a little.

"We'll wait upstairs," I told Zain as he gave me my keys to the boutique and apartment above.

I locked the front door of the boutique before we made our way to the apartment.

Everything looked as it had on that day.

When my eyes flitted to the kitchen floor-- I completely broke down.

Prince Edward's POV:

Adeline had stayed unnervingly calm as we had packed everything away from the boutique.

Tears had spilled here and there, but she never dared to let them all out.

Back in the apartment, she broke down and it broke my heart.

"It'll be ok," I said as I put a hand on her shoulder.

Adeline turned around then and hid her face in my chest as she continued to cry.

There definitely was something there, between Adeline and me, but I made sure to keep a respectable distance while showing her affection. I didn't want her to feel rushed into anything. Given the circumstance.

But at this moment, I couldn't help to wrap my arms around her as she laid her head on my chest.

"I knew coming here would be hard," Her voice cracked as she cried.

"This was your home," I said, cupping her face into my hands.

Reluctantly, she looked into my eyes.

Her pale blue eyes were puffy and red from crying.

Gently, I wiped away the tears from her face.

"I still can't believe that she's gone," Adeline muttered as she put her hands on top of mine.

"I can't imagine what you're going through right now," I led us to the couch to sit, "and I know that this feeling won't ever really pass, but I do believe it does get better."

She smiled faintly, "Thank you, Prince Edward, for always being there for me." Her cheeks flushed when she said that.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Adeline," I took hold of her hand, she looked into my eyes again, "I'll always be here for you."

Boldly, I kissed her forehead.
