Alexsandrina's POV:
Jealousy boiled my veins when I saw Prince Edward escort Adeline to the Ball.
I knew there was something between them. Prince Edward didn't try to hide his feelings he had toward her.
And from how Adeline was looking into Prince Edwards eyes, she no longer was trying to hide her feelings towards him either.
I clenched my jaw as they made their way toward the Crown Princes and me.
"Lady Adeline," Prince Roberto bowed in front of her, "It's nice to see you again."
"Prince Roberto," Adeline gracefully curtsied. "It's nice to see you again too— it's nice to see you all again."
Adeline caught me staring at her— well more like, glaring at her. So she slightly turned my way and tried to give me a friendly smile, which only made me glare at her even more.
It had only been a few months since she came back to this life, came back to us, and she was fitting right in as if she never left. As if she hadn't lived a normal life up until a few months ago.
Adeline was perfect. I hated that she was perfect.
"May I have this dance, Adeline?" Edward asked Adeline, extending his hand out to her.
"Of course," She curtsied, putting her hand in his.
As they danced together, you could see that they were perfect for each other.
Here I tried so hard to get his attention, I grabbed a glass of red wine from the nearest waiter, watching Prince Edward and Adeline dance, and he never had eyes for me.
A tinge of sadness engulfed the jealousy that had been boiling in my veins.
"Let's dance," Prince Keith grabbed the wine glass from my hand and set it down on a nearby table.
"Sure," I let him take my hand in his and lead me to the dance floor.
"You're terrible at hiding your emotions," He said as we danced.
"Adeline tends to bring them out more," I said bitterly as I watched her mingle with the Crown Princes at the corner of my eye.
"She's your sister, your twin sister, Alexsandrina, you should give her a bit more compassion."
I narrowed my eyes at him, but I couldn't say anything back at Prince Keith.
He was right. Whatever I was feeling toward her, I shouldn't be feeling this way.
Yes, she did take Prince Edward away from me, but she didn't know that.
She took the throne from me, but the throne hadn't even been mine to begin with.
Adeline was perfect. No, she seemed perfect, but underneath that facade I knew— like everyone else— she was hurting and she was still grieving our grandmother.
"I know that I shouldn't be feeling the way that I feel towards Adeline," I blurted out after a moment of dancing with Prince Keith in silence. "I just need time to get to know her, that's all."
"Then stop giving her the devil eyes," Prince Keith whispered in my ear.
I pasted a smile on my face.
Maybe, when I stop feeling this way towards her, I thought bitterly.
Author's Note:
Okay, so here is chapter 25...and a little insight on why Alexsandrina doesn't seem to like Adeline.
As I was writing this chapter, I thought that I would want Alexsandrina and Adeline to fight, to get into a "girl fight" to be exact, but I can't see that happening...yet...if it ever does happen.
So...I'm just going to keep that matter...open...for now xP...hehehe.
I hope you liked this short chapter.
Will update as soon as possible.
