"This is beautiful!" Sage said as she looked around the room from the centre she stopped at.

A large floating bed with white covers was to her left, against a wall covered in brown and gold tribal designs. To her right, two modern wooden lounge chairs with open sides and white cushions faced a fireplace.

A short shelf was filled with books and luxurious yet vintage decorative pieces. A light coloured rug covered that small area with a short oak coffee table that resembled two benches stuck together.

The floors were shiny vinyl planks, the room was rich in brown tones and art, and in front of her, where a cool breeze wafted in, was a wall of glass.

"You like it?" Junior asked as he wrapped his arms around her from behind then placed his chin on her shoulders.

"Yes, I love it," she replied lowly.

She and Junior just arrived for their week-long vacation, and she was overjoyed.

The day before Junior had taken her shopping, after much debate which her boyfriend won and they left at sunrise this morning.

This came at the perfect time, she needed a break from all that was happening in her life.

"What's on your mind?"

She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to look at Junior. He seemed stressed out, ever since the day before. She had tried to find out why but he said it was work.

"I needed this, thank you," she stood on her toes and pecked his lips.

Junior smirked, "That's all I get?"

Sage giggled before she kissed him.

"That's more like it," Junior said against her lips and squeezed her bum, "Let me go get the remaining bags."

Sage nodded and turned around. She walked to an opening on the transparent wall that led to a balcony. She passed the chairs then stood against the wooden rail and took in the sight.

There were mountains, rich in colour and splayed around in different heights. There was a clear waterfall that traveled soundly into the depths of the rocks and a lot of green. The sun shone from the far end, it gave off a glow that made the trees seem like exotic flowers.

She fell in love with the sight right there and then. The peace that surrounded her was indescribable, a sense of gratitude filled her and she couldn't stop staring into the magnitude of nature.

Junior walked up to her and stood behind her, he kissed her temple before looking at the view before them, "Wow," he whispered.

"I know," Sage said.

...

"I killed my son because of that nigga!" Brutus shouted as he paced behind his desk in his office, "He killed my son!"

André watched his biological father from the couch that sat opposite the large desk, "What do you need me to do?"

Brutus stopped then looked at André, "Bring him to me, I wanna chat to him before I put a bullet to his head," he snarled.

"He is out of town with his girlfriend," André informed his father before leaning back.

"How do you know?"

"My little girlfriend told me, she's best friends with his girl. They're together," he stated simply.

Brutus eyed him.

"Nothing serious, just business," André talked.

"Well that's brilliant, work from a close range. What can your little girlfriend do for us?" Brutus finally sat down and rubbed his head.

"Information," André shrugged.

"You are your father's son Dre," Brutus smirked and sat back and played with his beard, "But this might take long and I want him dead soon."

"We need to work smartly, not rashly. Allow me to get information and give them the notion that we ain't going to pay back and attack when they least expect it," André said.

"Okay, him and his boy JP," Brutus added.

André nodded, "His girl?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I doubt that bitch mean anything to him," Brutus said.

"Word on the street is she means everything to him," André said.

Brutus smiled deviously, "Well then," he sat up and placed his elbows on the desk before running his hands together, "We know where to start."

...

"Give her some time, she'll forgive you," Trisha sighed.

"Like she forgave you?" Letoya asked with some attitude.

Trisha smacked her lips, "My story with her is different, she'll see it soon though," she said sitting down on her bed.

They were chilling in her room for the day, with nothing to do.

"With Ashley so close to her, I don't think so," Letoya threw her upper body back onto the bed.

"There has to be a way to let Sage know," Trisha pondered.

"Tell her to check her phone records," Letoya shrugged her shoulders, "Record Vanessa telling you Ashley told her-"

"Second idea is out, she'll never believe a word Nessa says," Trisha laid on her side facing Letoya, "I don't trust Ashley hey, I feel like she has something up her sleeve."

"Same sis, same," Letoya agreed.

"Anyway, how's your mom?"

Letoya had told Trisha about how her mom has changed drastically, in a physical and mental aspect.

"I don't know, she's getting more quieter by the day and has lost some weight, I tried asking her but she brushed the question away," Letoya said.

"She'll tell you in due time," Trisha assured.

"Yeah, whatever," Letoya said.

A ring tone interrupted and Letoya grabbed her phone.

"You might want to stop using that stolen phone," Trisha eyed Letoya as she answered it.

"Hello," Letoya spoke.

Letoya shot up. There was a long pause and Trisha watched as her friend's facial expressions tainted in hurt.

"Wh-what?"

Trisha neared Letoya with worry.

Letoya dropped the phone on the bed and tears filled her eyes, "It's my mom," she croaked.

"What happened?"

"She's... She is in hospital."
