It had been two weeks since the shooting occurred and Sage was still shaken up. It didn't ease her shock when it was the talk of the town and at school, her name never left the mouths of those who relished in gossip.

She had attempted to avoid Junior days after due to the annoyance of him lying. That changed when she found him standing by his car opposite the school gate with a bouquet of red roses in his hands.

He then explained to her what he does, which scared Sage after her initial shock but he assured her of safety. That was also the day he told her he loved her, with tears she said it back to him.

They were inseparable since.

The couple was saying their goodbyes by Junior's car that was parked in front of Trisha's house on Thursday afternoon.

After parting ways with Ashley at school because she was picked up by JP and Junior having an errand to run, Sage decided to spend the afternoon with Trisha - who had left the lovebirds leaning against the car a moment ago.

"Do you know what's happening between Ashley and JP?" Sage decided to ask her boyfriend because Ashley avoided the topic.

Junior side-eyed Sage before looking forward, "I don't mind people's business but mine."

Sage rolled her eyes, "I was just asking."

"And I'm just saying. That gossip talk is for females," Junior said before smirking and pulling Sage to him, "I hope you don't do that."

Sage smiled with her head down, "No."

"If I find out," Junior lifted her head with his hand beneath her chin.

"You won't because there is nothing to find out." Sage shrugged her shoulders looking up at Junior.

Junior hummed and closed the gap between their faces.

He placed his lips on hers then retracted, "Don't trust that friend of yours." He then smashed into her lips with his.

Forgetting the question she wanted to ask him, Sage responded by parting her lips, allowing Junior's tongue access.

It wasn't their first kiss but this interaction always sent her insides abuzz with a warm feeling and tingly sensation in her lower region, leaving her with a need for more.

They parted and when Sage opened her eyes she saw Junior staring down at her with a smirk. She bit her lip and held his gaze.

"Don't do that Ma," he said raspily.

"Do what?" Sage asked innocently before pressing her top teeth down on her bottom lip.

"That. It does things to me," as if to support his statement, Sage felt a bulge press against her lower stomach. She stepped back with a giggle.

"See what I mean Ma?" His eyes were low as he stared at Sage.

"Yeah, that's my cue to leave," Sage said then opened the door of the backseat to collect her backpack.

Junior chuckled, "You'll pay for this in the near future."

"I'm glad you know it's not soon," she said closing the door.

Junior situated himself in the driver's seat and lowered his window. He then started the car and watched Sage as she came closer.

"Which friend should I not trust?"

"Huh?" Junior looked puzzled but quickly remembered as to what Sage was referring to, "The one you asked about."

"Ashley?"
