"Sir, you have a meeting with Jaden-" Taehyung cut off his assistant.
"Cancel it. We are not doing business with them anymore. Inform their company." Taehyung ordered and went inside his private elevator.
As the doors closed, he saw his disheveled hair in the mirror. He woke up late that morning. Arya was still sound asleep beside him. He didn't have much time to get ready and attend meetings.
His hand reached his head and smoothened his hair. A little smile appeared on his lips thinking how Arya disliked his messy hair. She's didn't say anything about it but her annoyed expression always made it obvious.
He reached the meeting room and everybody stood up to greet him. Taehyung greeted back and made his way towards his seat.
"Let's start the meeting." He announced, sitting down. There was a moment of silence.
"Mr. Kim, we are waiting for our team member. She's supposed to give the presentation." Hoseok responded.
Taehyung instantly knew he was talking about Arya.
"Arya won't coming for a few days. Can't anybody else do it?" Hoseok was taken aback by how informally Taehyung addressed Arya.
"I guess we can but she's very efficient in her work and in making her point to get across. I'm afraid you won't be able to see that result with others."
A sense of pride filled Taehyung. Just then the door to the meeting room opened and in walked Arya, breathlessly.
"I-I'm so sorry. I'm a bit late today." She apologised hurriedly before making her way towards the front.
"What are you doing here?" Taehyung asked, his voice mixed with concern and anger. Arya froze as Taehyung blocked her way.
"Didn't I tell you rest for a few days?" He asked with a stoic face.
"Yeah, but the meeting is important. I couldn't miss it." Arya reasoned. Taehyung looked at her face. It didn't have the same glow as before and if work made her feel better, who was he to deny?
Taehyung silently went back to his seat letting Arya start the presentation.
"That was really great." One of her colleagues complimented as Arya packed up after the presentation.
"As usual, you never disappoint us." Hoseok added. Arya smiled as you both walked towards the elevator.
"Do you and Mr. Kim know eachother?" Hoseok asked suddenly making Arya choke on air.
"W-what? Why would we know eachother?" Arya lied looking away. Hoseok frowned.
"It's alright if you don't want to tell me. Let's get back to work now." He stepped into the elevator, leaving a confused Arya.
Getting back to work wasn't pleasant. She heard whispers about Jaden being fired and nobody knew why.
Everybody rejoiced but as soon as Arya saw Ji Ah, sitting in the cubicle beside her, she didn't want to be there anymore.
"Arya..." She whispered, noticing you. Arya didn't look her way and focussed on work.
"Arya, come on. I didn't mean to get drunk that night." Ji Ah still got no response. Arya didn't know if she could put the blame of her colleague because she was equally at fault for going to that party.
"Do you even know what happened that night?" Arya finally spoke. "I almost got r*ped."
Ji Ah let out an audible gasp.
"I'm sorry..."
"Now stop asking me about it."
Ji Ah didn't bother Arya for the rest of the day. When Arya looked at the time it was already past eight. She gasped packing her bag. Seeing the empty office gave her flash backs.
She cautiously walked towards the elevator and pressed the button. She tapped her foot anxiously when all of a sudden she heard foot steps right behind her.
Arya tensed and flinched away feeling a presence. Noticing, it was Taehyung she calmed down.
"Don't ever do that again. You scared me."
"Don't ever stay past seven. You are over working yourself."
Where is all this sudden care coming from?
The elevator dinged indicating its arrival. Taehyung and Arya stepped inside.
She felt safe with him. It had to do with that fact that he saved her and his silent promise that he would protect her. Arya knew Taehyung was bad at keeping promises, especially when it came to her but she believed him always.
"What happens to Jaden?"
"He is where he deserves to be. In Jail."
The elevator reached parking lot and Arya frowned and went to press the button for ground floor when Taehyung stopped her.
"It's past eight. There's no bus home for another two hours."
Having no choice, Arya followed Taehyung to his car while Taehyung mused at how she could be so stubborn.
The car ride was as silent as it could be but for the first time, Taehyung enjoyed the silence. He couldn't stop himself from stealing glances at Arya who looked out of the window. With the golden lights of the streets falling on her, she looked beautiful.
As soon as they reached home, Arya rushed to her room to take a shower. When she came downstairs with a towel rubbing her wait hair, she heard soft music playing in the background. Taehyung was cooking, moving along with the music.
It had been years since Arya had seen Taehyung live freely and in that moment, she saw his old self coming back. She hoped he would continue to be so.
Taehyung turned around and stopped dancing when he saw Arya standing at the entrance of the kitchen with hair sticking to the sides of her face. She looked breath-taking.
There was tension in the air making it awkward. Taehyung rubbed his neck, looking away hiding the redness of cheeks.
"Dad and Amara are at Jungkook's. So, it's just you and me today."
Arya nodded reaching the counter. She grabbed a spoon of the curry and tasted it.
"I think it needs more salt." Taehyung's eyes widened as he hurriedly grabbed some salt.
"I'll put some right away."
Approximately thirty minutes later, Taehyung and Arya were done with dinner and the dishes. Arya sat at the dining table looking at the moon through the huge window unaware of Taehyung's gaze on her. It was full moon and it's beauty intensified that night.
For Taehyung, the sight infront of him was more beautiful.
All of a sudden, he stood infront of her with his hand laid out.
"Dance with me." Arya chuckled.
"You know I can't dance to save my life."
"Well, you don't have to worry about that. I'll make sure you don't fall."
Arya placed her hand in his' as he pulled her to her feet. His hands snaked around her waist and with the music playing in the background, they both moved, not really in sync but in a wholesome mess.
"Don't blame me if I step on your feet. I warned you."
"It's not like your petite frame is going to hurt me."
"I'm not petite."
"Oh, is that so? The last time we danced you came up to my chest. You are still up to my chest!" Taehyung chuckled as Arya rolled her eyes playfully.
"Not my fault you grew up to be a giant."
He twirled her suddenly making her yelp as breath knocked out of her chest but brought her back safely into his arms. She gripped onto his arm eyes closed. She heard his soft chuckle.
"I told you I won't let you fall."
