"May I ask where Chopper-san is?" Hiriko inquired, her eyes sweeping over the group as if to check for the small reindeer. She was currently being carried by Sanji, her arms around the blushing cook's neck, and his hands under her knees and on her back supporting her as they ran through the streets of Rainbase.
"You don't need to worry, Hiriko-chan. He'll be able to sniff us out with Nami-chan's perfume!" The cook reassured, barely able to stop himself from passing out at having Hiriko this close to him. Her soft body pressing against his own.
Beside him, Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Vivi, and Nami sent him dark looks.
"Hiriko-chan," Vivi called out, going to stand beside Sanji so that she could look at the brunette as she spoke to her. "You mentioned stalling the rebel army earlier..." she trailed off, hoping Hiriko took the hint to elaborate.
At the mention of the rebel army, Hiriko's expression turned downcast and she craned her neck in apology to the princess. "I'm sorry Vivi-chan. I tried to reason with the rebels, however, they refused to listen," she explained, her tone filled with shame. Vivi felt worried, what had Hiriko done? She couldn't have beat up everyone in the rebellion...could she?
'Of course, she could! She's just as powerful as the others! I hope they're not dead...'
"I threw away their artillery."
"You threw away their artillery?!" She asked in shock, her expression baffled yet relieved. How could she have ever thought Hiriko would hurt someone unprovoked?! It was ridiculous when she thought about it. She's thinking about the same girl that prayed for the recovery of the crocodile who almost ate her leg!
"Yes, in the river. I also freed their camels and horses." Hiriko admitted, unconsciously hiding her face in the chef's suit as the shame of her immoral act overtook her. She remained oblivious to Sanji's accelerated heartbeat and bright red face.
'C-cute!' Sanji thought, looking down at the girl in his arms, his eyes filled with affection.
"You threw their weapons in a river?!" Zoro repeated, throwing his head back in laughter as he complimented the girl on her plan.
'Those rebels won't be starting a war any time soon,' he inwardly cackled.
"You're evil!" Usopp muttered, but immediately regretted it when he saw how genuinely ashamed Hiriko seemed. "A hero! You're a hero! You prevented many deaths by stalling the rebels! Hiriko: The Bravest Archer!"
His heart leaped as he saw her peeking up at him with a twinge of light in her eyes.
"Speaking of which, where did that bow come from?" Nami asked, remembering the bow Hiriko had battled Crocodile with. She looked so brave, standing on top of the table with her arrow pointed at Crocodile, a promise to protect them displayed in her smile. She was truly admirable.
