Hiriko fell back onto the bed, her mind whirling. The battle was still going on, and Crocodile was still on the loose -- likely engaged in battle with Luffy.
Hiriko wasted no time after that revelation dawned on her. She waited for the nurse to leave, not wanting to worry the woman, before grabbing her bow and quiver and running out of the room. She jumped out of the window but quickly realized that wasn't a wise idea as her leg exploded with pain.
For a while she sprinted through the town, not knowing where to go but wanting to help desperately. The battle was very much against them in terms of odds, and Hiriko was eager to tip the scale in their favor in any way possible.
Hiriko whizzed past tall buildings and abandoned booths. Silent streets and stifling tension surrounded her as she ran. As time passed Hirko's frustration grew. She had been running for over half an hour without a sign of the Straw hats or Crocodile. She had taken out a good number of Borque Works agents and stowed away a majority of the ammo from the royal soldiers. Yet, she hadn't seen a glimpse of the people she had ventured out for.
She had almost decided to give up and instead focus her efforts on finding a way to detain the soldiers and prevent any potential fighting. However, it was then that something caught her eye. Swiveling to get a better view, Hiriko's lips parted in shock at what she was witnessing. Crocodile's limp body was soaring high into the sky.
She stood there in shock for a while, countless questions flooding her mind. Then she realized, none of the (justifiable) inquiries she harbored were urgent. Saving the kingdom, unveiling Crocodile's vile plan, and helping the straw hats, on the other hand, were all very important and urgent matters. Soon enough, Hiriko was sprinting towards Crocodile's location. Hopefully, she'd find Luffy there.
She did find Luffy, along with Crocodile and Robin, however, she found them all in a crumbling cave.
Slinking into the dark encasement, Hiriko hauled Luffy over her shoulder and lifted Robin into her arms at once, her body protesting with sharp bouts of pain and nausea. She managed to bring both out of the collapsing cave safely, though getting Robin to release the death grip she had on Hiriko's shirt was harder.
"Please let go, I need to retrieve Crocodile," she pleaded gently, trying to unravel the clutching fingers from her shirt. Robin, barely conscious, shook her head. Hiriko sighed, looking conflicted, but then, she took note of the hollowness in Robin's eyes. At that moment, she made a ludicrous offer, in hopes of restoring the light in Robin's eyes. Soon the death grip on her shirt was released, and Robin comfortably surrendered to unconsciousness.
Hiriko was worried, but she managed to remind herself that Crocodile was in more immediate danger.
Unlike her thoughts on Robin, Hiriko didn't quite understand what she felt in regards to Crocodile. He was a man who had committed many heinous crimes; ones violating the laws and the most basic human moral principles.
