Lucifer's Taunt

"We have a long night ahead of us, you better get some rest Randy." Michael said looking over at Randy who was starting to drift off. "It's better to be awake at Satan's Peak than stay up all night with your guard up and be drifting there."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Randy said in a sleepy tone. He pulled Sapphire into his lap, laying her over him.

He wrapped his arms around Sapphire keeping her warm. He kissed her forehead before falling asleep.

Itachi looked over at Randy and Sapphire, and then over to Michael. And then he realized something, Nomi was missing. He jerked his head around looking for Nomi.

"Where's Nomi?" He asked while looking.

"Up here." Nomi yelled down from a tree. "Miss me?" He asked in his usual monatone.

"Well I haven't seen you since we got to Avon." Itachi said looking up at Nomi.

"I'm more of a background person." Nomi said darting his eyes to right; away from Itachi.

Itachi let out a sigh. "Whatever you say hot-shot." Itachi looked over at Michael. "So do you not sleep?"

"Nope." Michael said bluntly. "Guardians don't need sleep. We can, but it's pointless. The only Guardian that I know of that sleeps, is Gabrieal."

"Gabriael?" Itachi asked.

"Yeah, he's the Guardian of demons; as in he keeps the demons away." Michael said.

"And what are you the Guardian of?" Itachi asked.

"Everything." Michael said standing up.

"Come again?"

"Everything." Michael said. "I am the Guardian of everything that there is and will be."

"So, you're like Raiden?" Itachi asked.

"What about Raiden?" Michale looked over towards Itachi.

"You're both the leaders of high classes." Itachi said expressionless.

"Yes, that is true. Raiden will be my replacement if anything were to happen to me." Michael said.

Nomi slid down the tree, and began walking off.

"Where are you going?" Itachi asked.

Nomi turned around with a slight blush on his cheeks. "I need to go find Shobi."

"Speaking of Shobi, I haven't seen her since the masqurade." Itachi said under his breath. "Why do you have to find her all of the sudden?"

Nomi looked down, closing his eyes. "I just do. What you dont understand is that the Ninja Nomicon and the Shinobi Nomicon can tell when something is up with each other."

"What's wrong with Shobi then?" Michael asked.

"It's nothing you need to be concerned about." Nomi opened his eyes again.

"Aww someone is concerned about someone special." Itachi taunted.

"Who cares that I care about her!" Nomi yelled, his face a bright red.

Itachi chuckles. "I was only kidding, kid."

"I am not a kid, I am 800 years old. I have enough power and experience to take you out right now." Nomi growled.

Michael walked over to Nomi and placed his hand on Nomi's shoulder. "Nomi, what's wrong?"

Nomi just shakes his head. "It's nothing. I got to find Shobi."

And with that Nomi walked away, without turning around, without another word. Itach watched as he walked away into the dark forest.

Sapphire began stirring in her sleep, until she opened her eyes a little. She looked over at Itachi and Michael.
