1 week before Minhyuk's kindergarten exam
Hyungwon and Minhyuk were in the living room, the child books and pencils scattered on the coffee table. Hyungwon got off work earlier than expected and because of this, he had the task of teaching Minhyuk since Hoseok was still working, the man applied as a martial arts teacher instead of a workout trainer.
Hyungwon visited him twice on his work and saw that Hoseok was enjoying his job, so he had no objections. However, Hyungwon couldn't remember the last time he taught Minhyuk math or any subject because Hoseok usually did that. Now, he's having a dilemma. Actually, Minhyuk and him are having a dilemma.
Minhyuk knew that if his Hyung would each him instead of hid Daddy, it would only make him cry and so, he planned to hide that he'll be taking an exam this Friday. However, Miss Hyuna exposed him, the very moment Hyungwon entered the childcare center. You could guess what happened after that...Wonnie was now holding a bowl full of sliced cucumbers, threatening that if he makes a mistake, hie would force him to eat one.
Minhyuk, an hour later, in the middle of distinguishing the difference of a square and a pentagon was bawling his eyes out as he tries to remember what he learned.
"Minhyuk...how many times do I have to point out that this is a pentagon and this is a square. Look—MINMIN, look at the book and not on the cucumbers." Hyungwon scolded, aggressively pointing at the shapes on the book. At this point Minhyuk's attention was now directed at the cucumbers, the child was certain that since he couldn't get the shapes right, he's going to eat cucumbers.
"Minmin, Look at the book." Hyungwon grabbed Minhyuks face and showed him the shapes again. "The square has four sides. The Pentagon has five sides. You remember what sides mean right?"
Minhyuk didn't even nod. He's still crying.
"What do sides mean again?"
Minhyuk blanked out, the child's face is almost pitiful.
"Minmin, what does side means?" Hyungwon asked again, still trying to be patient as he wipes Minhyuks tears. "Minhyuk, I haven't given you a cucumber. Why are you crying?"
"You're shouting! " Minhyuk wailed, he too trying to wipe his tears with the use of his shirt, the front now soaked that Hyungwon noted that he would have to change his shirt later. "I don't—I don't want to eat a cu—"
Hyungwon was only raising the bowl to place it out of MInhyuks sight since the child couldn't focus with it at hand when it was right at that moment, Hoseok entered the threshold—seeing a tear soaked child and a disheveled, haggard-looking man holding a bowl of cucumber.
Hoseok could only draw a conclusion when he saw the math book on top of the coffee table. When Hoseok laid down his bag on the ground, a bunch of cats rushed to rummage his belongings, expecting a little snack, and a red-faced minmin also greeted him, Hoseok only pulled the five-year-old up on his arms after he successfully removed his shoes.
"Thank god you're here," Hyungwon stated, trying to hide his gladness but when Hoseok reached for him, the younger also leaning in for the habitual kissing in the forehead, the little smile slipped in.
"I think Minhyuk should say that. Hey, did this evil man threatens you with a cucumber again?" Hoseok consoled as he followed Hyungwon to the kitchen, Minhyuk only nodded as he wiped his tears with his already wet hands. "I think we would have to talk, minnie. Why did you hide that you have an exam?"
