Marauders' Sixth Year (Wolfstar, Marauders)

Betrayal

The next couple week went by fairly quick for the four boys.
They were loaded with classes, schoolwork, etc which caused them to spent a lot of time studying, reading and working hard.
They barely had any spare time, but what they had, they decided to use for reading up more stuff that could be helpful with making the magical map they had planned out.

One night, they were all sitting at a table in the common room, being the last Gryffindors awake that night. They were still working on how best to draw the map so they could fit all the floors on there.
It kept on getting later and later.
Sirius kept on running his hands over Remus' shoulder unconsciously while Remus was thinking and James and Peter reading some more.

Remus slowly put down the quill he had been using to draw sketches and signed, looking up at the others.
„I'm gonna head up now.
It's late and tomorrow's full moon. I need to rest..." He yawned and got up.

Peter and James nodded, smiling gently. „Okay, sounds good. We'll do some more reading and then head up as well. We'll bring the books."
Sirius nodded and yawned as well, his hand having slid down Remus' back as he had gotten up. „I'll go up soon as well, I'll just finish this page."

The two boys still hadn't told their friends about them dating. Of course, both of them knew about how Sirius' felt about Remus because he had told James and James had confirmed it to Peter once he had started being suspicious.
Remus walked up the steps and got ready for bed in their dormitory, surprised Sirius still hadn't tried to convince him to let him come with him tomorrow.

Peter closed his book as soon as Remus was up the stairs and signed loudly. „I can't read another word about this castle or I might barf."
Sirius giggled and closed his book as well, signing and leaning back in his chair as James did the same.
„I don't get how Remus manages to stare at books all day and not be bored!"

Sirius raised his eyebrows and laughed.
„You manage to look at Lily all day long and still don't get bored."
Peter laughed and James shook his head.
„You're one to talk! You can't even take your eyes off Remus for two seconds!"

Sirius furrowed his brows at him and looked at Peter before looking back at James.
„Dude, I told you that in PRIVATE!
No offense, Peter."
Peter grinned and shook his head slowly.
„None taken, I figured it out myself a few weeks ago. You're not really... subtle about it."

Sirius signed and grinned a bit, looking at the two of them. For a second he considered telling them about him and Remus, but decided not to. Remus should be there when telling their two best friends.
„Well, if you know anyway... whatever, it's not important.
We need to keep on working on the map and catch up on school work. I need to figure out what to do for Christmas. I'll probably stay here. I'm not going back to my ‚family' after I left this summer. My mom burned my picture off the family tree from what I've heard."

James signed. Sirius had spent most of the last summer with him and his parents after he had ran away from home, officially fed up with his so called family. „You know you're always welcome at my place, Sirius. My parents would love to have you for Christmas."
Sirius smiled gently. „Thank you, James. I know... but I don't want to be a burden and you guys should get family time and I could stay here to catch up on work."
James signed „You guys -all of you- are like brothers to me. Spending time with you IS family time. But of course, if you prefer to stay here, I understand."

Peter smiled kindly at James words, feeling grateful to have such good friends in his life who trusted him and wanted him around.
He stacked the books and looked at his friends. „Are you guys planning to... you know, ask Remus again about joining him tomorrow?"

James signed and Sirius closed their ink bottles before putting his hair together in a messy bun. „I'll try again tomorrow. I bet he'll try to refuse again. Maybe he'll give it a shot if only one of us goes? I don't know...
If he says no, I might just go anyway. He won't remember."
