Two Weeks Later

It was almost Christmas by the time things started to settle down again for the four boys.
Remus stuck to his word, he wasn't talking to Sirius anymore. When they were with James and Peter, both Sirius and Remus would answer to each other but especially Remus kept it short and formal, though he was completely normal and cheerful with James and Peter.

Sirius, who had somehow gotten around being expelled, tried to get Remus to talk to him, to forgive him.
Every time they were in the dormitory alone, he'd try to get him to work things out, but Remus refused. „I told you my stance on what happened, Sirius." was the most he got out of him.

With only a couple days left until Christmas, the castle had started getting emptier and a lot of students went home for the Holidays.
James -who had been high above the clouds ever since Lily and him had had their first date- went home for Christmas to be with his parents and Peter did as well.
Sirius had already decided to stay some time ago, and Remus stayed to have the library handy and because his parents were travelling.

Remus was sitting on his bed at nighg after the Christmas Eve feast, looking at the star charts for Astronomy and scribbling on his parchment. It was the last piece of work to finish before the start of term in two weeks after christmas and New Years -he didn't like putting it off until last minute- and there'd be a full moon right before term would start.
Sirius entered the dormitory and signed, he had just finished some work in the Library. 
„Remus... We should really, really talk."

Remus didn't even look up, he just shook his head and tried to focus on his work.
„Remus... Please. It's Christmas Eve."
Sirius sat down on the bed next to Remus and put a hand on his shoulder. Remus shrugged it off.
„I said no."

Sirius slowly moved closer to him, putting his hand on his other shoulder and slowly breathing against his neck. Remus shuddered slightly as goosebumps crawled over his body. „Sirius stop that..."
Sirius' breath was hot against Remus' neck as signed. „We need to work things out. I need you back in my life."

Remus suddenly put his things away and moved away from Sirius, getting off his bed and turning to look at him. „Stop that! YOU almost made me a murderer! You didn't care one bit about me when you told Severus about the passageway!"

Sirius looked at Remus, signing deeply and his brows furrowed. „I just told him what he wanted! It serves him right! Nothing happened in the end, so who cares?"

„I CARE! I FUCKING CARE, SIRIUS!" Sirius winced when Remus swore. It wasn't like him at all. „REMEMBER HOW I FELT HORRIBLE AFTER THE SUMMER?! THAT'S BECAUSE A GIRL FROM MY TOWN HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE THE FIRST FULL MOON THIS SUMMER! HER PARENTS TOLD THE POLICE THAT SHE WENT FOR A LATE NIGHT WALK AND DIDN'T COME BACK! I PROBABLY KILLED THIS GIRL! THEY'RE STILL LOOKING FOR HER! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN OUTCAST AND UNWANTED IN SOCIETY!"
Remus's fists were clenched-he was shaking-. His eyes were slowly filling with tears. He hadn't told then about the girl because he thought they'd hate him. They'd have to, he was likely a murderer.

As Sirius got up slowly, his face twisted in a weird way. He realized what Remus had said but was angry with him and upset that he hadn't told them-or at least him-. „I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT's LIKE!? HOW FULL OF YOURSELF ARE YOU? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT MY FAMILY VALUES ARE? THE NOBLE AND MOST ANCIENT HOUSE OF BLACK, PUREBLOOD NARCISSISTS! I DON'T HAVE A HOME TO GO TO, AND YOU TALK ABOUT ME NOT KNOWING WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN OUTCAST? MY
FAMILY WOULD PROBABLY KILL ME IF THEY KNEW I AM FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE WITH FILTHY BLOOD LIKE YOU AND THAT I LOVE YOU!"
