Ishimaru felt a pit in his stomach. His gut was telling him not to go to Hell. Do anything, just don't go to Hell. On the other hand, he could hear his brain telling him it was for the best. He could feel something else, it was almost as if his heart was agreeing with his brain.
But, Ishimaru had already made his final decision. He was going to Hell no matter what his body told him to do.
He walked down the streets heading towards the Monorail, a parcel at his side holding the contract papers that he had signed. He began to wonder how the tunnel worked, or what his disguise to get into Hell would look like. He climbed up the stairs and sat down on a bench, patiently waiting for the monorail to arrive. He patiently waited, occasionally looking at his watch for the time.
8:34...8:45...8:50...
He looked around the station, he was the only one there as usual. He got up to quickly stretch, watching the monorail approach. It soon stopped at the station and he hopped on, grabbing onto a handle and jerked as the monorail began to move forward. Looking around, he noticed a young woman with a toddler sitting next to her. Ishimaru wondered if the child had been killed at a young age, or was born in Heaven. He supposed that the child was killed, considering that creating life in Heaven was very hard, since Heaven was meant for the dead.
He quickly cleared his head of these thoughts. 'Negative thoughts before an important conference, how unprofessional of you Ishimaru!'
He heard a loud screeching noise, indicating that the monorail was about to stop.
"Winged Ram Central," the monorail intercom rang out. Ishimaru got up and quickly exited the booth, walking down a flight of stairs and walking towards one of the largest buildings in Heaven. It was super busy as per usual, but Ishimaru managed and was walking down the golden marble hallway he had seen once before. He approached the large chestnut door and walked inside with confidence, closing the door behind him and waiting by the entrance to the office.
"Mr. Ishimaru! Pleasure to see you again!" Mr. Suzuki said, getting up from his desk and walking over to Ishimaru, sticking out his hand for a handshake that was quickly returned, "So, what do you say?"
Ishimaru took the packet out of the parcel he had with him, handing it to Mr. Suzuki. He smiled and quickly opened the packet to the last page, his halo getting brighter along with his smile, "terrific! Absolutely terrific! Thank you so much, Mr. Ishimaru, your help will be greatly appreciated by our team! Speaking of them, you should meet them. Come along." Mr. Suzuki began to walk over to the side of the office, where a large array of bookshelves were. Ishimaru stood there, confused. Mr. Suzuki winked and pulled a book down. One of the bookshelves moved backwards, revealing a secret passageway. They walked through the hallway. It was lit well with pretty candles. They took a bend around a corner, walking through an archway. There were a few angels in a large circular room, each doing their own kind of business at a massive table in the center of the room. Mr. Suzuki walked up to the table, spreading his wings out slightly.
"Good morning everyone! I have wonderful news to share with you all today!" Mr. Suzuki said, everybody turning to look at him, "I have found an extremely suitable candidate for our operation!"
"Suzuki, that's wonderful!" A woman with blue hair and a gorgeous face spoke up, "I'm sure we would all be pleased to meet them!"
"Of course. Everybody, be pleased to meet Kiyotaka Ishimaru."
Ishimaru walked up to the table, and stood confidently next to Mr. Suzuki. Surprisingly, Ishimaru recognized one other person in the room other than Mr. Suzuki. The girl with blue hair who had spoken up earlier, Sayaka Maizono. Ishimaru was pretty shocked to see her, but kept his mouth shut to stay professional.
'Didn't she try to commit an act of murder?' He thought, keeping a straight face.
"Thank you so much for allowing me to help you. Mr. Suzuki. I promise to do anything necessary to confirm this mission's success."
"The pleasure is all mine. Would you like share with our team some information about yourself?"
"Of course. My name is Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the Ultimate Moral Compass. I died 10 years ago, and died attending Hope's Peak Highschool."
"I thought I recognized you!" Sayaka said, standing up from her seat after slightly raising her hand, "Sayaka Maizono. We attended Hope's Peak together."
"Yes, I recognize you as well, Maizono. I'm sure we'll have another time to catch up some day."
Maizono sat back down, giving Ishimaru a smile. Mr. Suzuki spoke up, "I'm glad to see that you are getting along so quickly. On another point, Mr. Jane, could you inform Ishimaru of a part of his job with the operation regarding his disguise? I'm assuming you've already let everyone else know of their positions."
A man with black hair tied into a bun looked up from his work, nodding his head. Suddenly the table began to shake and the chairs suddenly moved closer to each other, while the table expanded. A throne-like chair emerged from the ground, with the engraving 'Kiyotaka Ishimaru' near the top of it. It matched all of the other chairs, other than the engraving. Everyone had their individual name engraved into their respected chair. Ishimaru walked around to his chair, which was placed between Mr. Jane and Sayaka Maizono.
"Wonderful!" Mr. Suzuki said, summing up the meeting, "This meeting had been dismissed. Just a reminder, the operation will begin this Friday, in 4 days to be exact. We MUST have everything ready by then. Mr. Jane, again, I request that you stay back and inform Ishimaru of his disguise."
The man next to Ishimaru nodded his head. He was quiet, and looked tired, but he was wearing the same white suit & golden tie as everybody else in the room. Everybody else other than Ishimaru."My name is Lance Jane, short for Lancelot," Lance said, sticking out his hand for a handshake, which was kindly returned by Ishimaru, "I'll be teaching you how your disguise is gonna work regarding the mission. On the outside, the mission may seem dangerous, but I can assure you that it's safe."
"Yes... while I do believe that it's safe... what will occur if I do get caught?"
"Of course that would be a primary concern of yours, I completely understand. There's the chance that you could either be tortured for eternity, or since it would be your first offense, your wings would be ripped clean off and you would be sent back to Heaven."
Ishimaru sat still for a few seconds, as still as a brick. Mr. Jane spoke so calmly about this, how was he- oh. Ishimaru realized that Mr. Jane had no wings on his wings, and a cracked halo. Ishimaru decided not to ask, since he already had an idea of what it could be. This would also explain the massive scar across Mr. Jane's left eye.
"I'm sure you wish to know the outfit criteria of our mission," Mr. Jane said, passing a packet of papers to Ishimaru, "This will inform you of everything you need to know, other than what I'm going to tell you here."
Mr. Jane got up and motioned Ishimaru to follow him. They went down a hallway behind them, before Mr. Jane pulled out a key and opened a door leading into a medium sized room. This room was much darker than the rest of the headquarters. It was dark and there were bottles filled with glowing liquids.
"Potion brewing... isn't that more of a Wiccan tradition?" Ishimaru asked, curious as he had never seen potions before.
"Oh? Well- I suppose they are a large part of Wiccans. But these potion recipes were made by God himself, and can only be used by people in Heaven, and sometimes with special permission, Hell officials. A lot of people perceive God the wrong way- but that's enough about that."
Mr. Jane walked over to a black box, unlocking it with a key he had tucked away in his pocket. He opened the box, revealing small bottles of a glowing dark red liquid. He carefully picked one up, putting it into a locket that was hanging on the wall. He handed the locket to Ishimaru, who took it with careful hands.
"This is called 'An Angel's different path," a potion used to change an Angel's wings-" Mr. Jane said, lightly grabbing one of Ishimaru's wings and spreading it out, "-to a Devil's pair of wings. Now of course a halo cannot be changed, so we will be keeping your halo here while you are down in Hell. There is also a chance that you will get either horns or a tail, but you won't know that until you take a dose of the potion."
"This is one of the most interesting things I have ever witnessed! How long does the potion last?"
"A drop of the potion will last a week. There are 10 doses within a single bottle. You will be down there for 2 months, so you should have 2 extra drops just in case. We also have a potion that reverses this effect, which will be used on you once you return from the mission."
"Ah... I see. So what will I exactly be doing in this operation?"
Mr. Jane smiled, the first he had smiled during their entire discussion, "You'll be retrieving a very important item. An item Heaven has been wanting for a while now. Mrs- Ms. Maizono has been tasked with giving you the details on that behalf. But I suppose you are already quite exhausted from this visit, and we don't want you too tired before the mission is supposed to commence- so you'll be learning more about that when you come back tomorrow."
'Why did he stutter at with the Mrs?' Ishimaru thought, shaking it off, "I see. I greatly appreciate all of this."
"Yeah of course, you're an extremely important part of this mission after all. Well- you're allowed to go home now. But not too long before our meeting started, front desk called and said someone was waiting for you in the golden lobby."
"Oh? I didn't have any plans with anybody today. Well- it was nice getting to meet and introduce myself to some of our team."
"Yep! Our team is called 'The Table' if nobody had mentioned it to you yet. Also when you're going up the passageway again, make sure the bookshelf is sealed when you leave."
Ishimaru nodded and gave a goodbye handshake to Mr. Jane, before leaving the potions room and back to where the large table was. Everyone had seemed to have dispersed, as the room was dead empty and silent, except for the clacking of Ishimaru's boots against the quartz flooring. He made his way up the passageway, sealing the bookshelf tightly behind him. As he left Mr. Suzuki's office and made his way towards the golden lobby, he wondered who had called for him. As he made his way into the room, he knew exactly who was waiting for him.
