Chapter 15

Willow

Willow had never felt so happy hugging another person before. Her friend was on her feet and talking which was better than where she had been according to Remy. But she looked paler if that was even possible for someone who spent the majority of their lives in a cage underground. There were dark circles under her eyes and she looked tired. Still, she hugged her slim frame as tight as she could. Willow felt like crying but held back the tears as she murmured to her friend about not being told anything about how she was. She could feel Sarah's arms tighten around her for a brief moment. Willow felt a sliver of relief fill her as she started to pull away. Sarah pulled her closer still and whispered in her ear quietly.

"We leave tonight." Confusion and joy lit inside Willow like a candle and she nodded against her friend. They stepped apart and Willow took the chance to study her friends face. She looked wary as she surveyed the people in the room. Her eyes darted from one face to another. Only when they landed on Datrim did they soften just a little. Willow sucked in a steady breath bracing herself for what was to come.

"Willow have you met everyone?" Sarah kept her voice light. Willow nodded and looked each wolf in the face. Datrim looked disinterested in anything but Sarah. Payton looked at her with little interest and a great deal of fear, but every time his eyes flicked to her friend they softened around the corners and his lips lifted slightly in a small smile. Remy seemed to ignore the girls all together instead watching the Alpha like he was looking for a signal to attack. Sarah just looked ready to bolt out the door at the slightest noise. Willow felt the beginnings of a headache settle into the back of her skull and she desperately wished for a nap.

"Now that everyone has gauged everyone else can we please decide what it is we are going to do?" Datrim's smooth deep voice filled the empty quiet of the room.

"I am going to continue to talk with Willow and Sarah about what is going on out there. After Luther returns tonight you may return to your own pack. And Remy is going to continue to act as escort for our human friend here." Payton stated smoothly. Willow knew that ditching the rather observant wolf beside her was going to be a problem. And there was the issue of laying everything out on the table for the two Alphas in front of her. Even though she needed to get Sarah out of there as soon as possible she still wanted them to know what they were up against. They needed to be prepared for the storm that was heading their way. With the appearance of the Fey she was sure they could win against Sephtis and all the hate he was washing the world with. Europe had already befallen his plan. As far as she could piece together he had camps like the one she had run from all over the globe.

Willow simply nodded in agreement as she began to think of ways to get them out of there. She could vaguly hear Payton say something to Datrim but didn't bother to tune in completely as she racked her brain for a way to get them out. There was no way that she could do what Grant had done for them in the camp. A diversion like that had taken him a long time to put together. She had neither the time nor the rescources to do so. Sneaking out was the most viable option for them. If she had kept track of time correctly tonight was the full moon and with Sarah having gone through the whole month with no meds in her system it was going to be a painful one for her. They had to leave well before midnight.

Willow looked to Sarah to see what she was thinking and what she saw almost took her breath away. The slight narrowing of her eyes told Willow that she was in tremendous amounts of pain and was trying to hide it. Every once in a while her body would lean towards Payton before she would jerk herself back into a straighter posture. Her hands clenched and unclenched at her sides like she was trying to hold in her anger and frustration. She was a ticking time bomb and Willow knew she had to get her out of there as soon as possible before she exploded.
