Gaze awoke to a warm hand on her forehead. She brought her arm up to brush it away. Time... space... hands.... Someone else's hands. Whose hands were these? Her half-asleep brain always had more questions than answers.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.", Tha Man muttered sitting on the edge of her bed.
Soft.... His hands are soft. It is a 'he' she concluded his hands are large too... well larger than normal, not quite Mt. Lady large. Soft yet large hands... She knew who this was.
"Good morning Fatgum." She muttered. "Not to be rude but, how did you get through the door?"
"Had to lose a few pounds, but, it seemed like a good reason." Ace could tell he was smiling.
"Ahh... so that's why my bed isn't broken yet. Gotcha." They both laughed. "What's going on? "
"Well after Hawks said you wouldn't be able to make report last night, I got a little worried."
"I'm fine."
"Hawks said you got kidnapped."
"I did."
"And that you had a mental breakdown."
"I almost did."
"And you're fine?"
"Yep. Just needed a recharge. Now, I'm right as rain." Ace smiled trying her best to make it convincing. In reality. Her head hurt like HELL however, if she said that she wouldn't be able to go on Patrol. "Why would I lie to you, Fatgum?" She finally opened her eyes and immediately regretted it. "And why did you open the curtains?"
Gaze lifted her arm to shield her eyes from the sun. This was odd... neither Hawks nor Fatgum had come to her dorm before. Especially not to wake her up. The most Hawks would do Is bombard her phone because he knew she had her ringer on.
"I thought it would help you wake up better."
"That was why they were closed." Gaze chuckled. "So, why are you really here?" She sat up on her elbows and finally looked at him. He had lost a few pounds. Kirishima had told her she could do this, but she'd never actually seen it.
"I figured today would be a good day for you to work with one of the students."
GG perked up at that. A whole day of just hanging out and walking the streets with Kiri. "Only a half-patrol. It's my day off." Ace knew that if she acted excited to be working on her day off she would never get another free-day. Best to pretend not to absolutely love your job.
Fatgum got up off of the bed and kneeled down to meet Ace's eyes. "Can we make it a whole patrol if I buy you coffee?"
"Mmm Maybe." Ace hummed. "Give me a few minutes, I'll meet you at the agency."
"Or I could wait outside the gates."
"Or you could do that." Gaze nodded. Fatgum left the room and gave Ace time to get suited up. She didn't wear her skirt today, she decided on the pants that she had designed in case of situations like this. The fabric was super flowy and comfortable. Since the pants covered up the boots, Ace just slipped on her Doc Martens and called it a day. Everything still matched her basic color scheme of Blues, Oranges, and Blacks. So she didn't think it would be a problem.
She walked out of her dorm room and only then thought about what time it was. It was after noon and Hawks hadn't said a word to her. She decided to text him first, for once.
