Camping and other horrible ideas pt. 1

"You want to do what for your 20th birthday?" Daphne asked confused by the sudden plan.

"I want us to go camping." Grace smiled excitedly. "Cmon you guys it will be so much fun!"

"Grace you do know that camping is uncomfortable right?" I complained. I hated camping with a passion ever since the time me and my family went camping and had just a series of unfortunate events starting with a broken tent and ending with an emergency room situation. Yeah let's stop reminiscing.

"But this is what I want to do." She pouted.

"Three girls alone in the middle of the woods does not sound that appealing." Daphne quipped.

"Oh it won't be just us." Grace smiled mischievously.

"You didn't!" I looked at her in disbelief. "Please tell me you didn't invite him."

"He is my friend too and you guys need to get over your pesky rivalry."

"God you're inviting your college dweebs aren't you?" Daphne scoffed.

"You guys are so mean." Grace complained.

"There is a reason you don't mix different groups of friends." I complained. "Have you forgotten what happened last time?"

At that a look of annoyance passed her face momentarily before she murmured something about it being so last year.

"Look this is how I want to spend my birthday and you're invited. It's your call though." Grace said with a finality in her voice.

What was happening with her?

"We'd love to come." Daphne said ironically.

"Great!" Grace smiled. "Loose the attitude though."

"Yeah yeah wouldn't wanna scare your college dweebs."

"Daphne!" I scolded.

"God you two are no fun." She scoffed. "You're lucky we're already friends."

"Immensely." I rolled my eyes a small smile in my lips.

"Great I'll text you guys the details since I'm having Jay plan it. He does camping stuff all the time." Grace quickly said. "Okay bye girls gotta go."

"Grace! Jay?" I questioned.

"Yes it will be fine. Bye now." She hurriedly finished as she walked away from the crowded coffee shop.

"She really is in a bubble isn't she?" Daphne sighed.

"Yeah..." I scoffed.

"It's gonna be okay though you know that?" Daphne inquired. "I'll kick his ass if he tries anything."

"I'm lucky I have you." I smiled at her.

"Right back at ya babes." She smiles back.

The wonderful day of the camping trip was upon us, as my overactive imagination was thinking about all the ways this trip could go to shit. Walking faster to the meeting point with my comically large bag, I spotted Daphne waiting from afar.

"Ummm did you leave anything in your flat or did you pack it all with you?" She teased.

"It won't be so funny when someone gets a cut and no one has bandages with them except for me." I retorted.

"You're sick." She laughed.

"Insane really." I laughed with her.

"Babes you're here!" Grace popped out of nowhere smiling from ear to ear.
