Shinkami - think I'm into you

The gardens

This chapter has a bit of a trigger warning for minor self harm, but I'll put where it starts and ends so you can skip over it if you want.

Shinso's pov

I walk into the gardens, and the bushes quickly engulf me until I can't see Bakugo and Kirishima. How am I supposed to find kaminari in here? It's like a maze. I walk around for about five minutes, and then I hear some sniffling. I speed up my walk, and try to find a way around the huge wall of bush. I start to get frustrated and speed up again, so that I'm jogging. I finally find a way around, and back in the direction of kaminari.

"Kaminari!"

Kaminari is balled up with his back against a tree, arms around his knees and he lifts his head, tears streaming down his face. He tries to wipe the tears off on his sleeve, but more tears just come out.

"Hey, hey Kaminari it's ok," I make my way over to him as he lets out another

sob. I notice his fingers clenching down on his arms.

"Hey Kaminari just let go of your arms ok?" I whisper as softly as I can, as if talking to a startled kitten. He nods and lets me pry his fingers off, revealing nail marks all over his arms.

Trigger warning over

"It's ok, it's ok," I repeat in a soothing tone. I lean over and envelope him in a hug. He hesitates for a second, before hugging me back tightly. We stay like that for about a minute, me still mumbling things into his ear. Then I let go and look at him.

"Are you ok? I just saw you running out of the cafeteria and you looked really upset."

He looks at the ground again.

"I'm fine, really." He obviously doesn't want to talk about it right now.

"Will you tell me about it later?" I ask him, still keeping my voice low.

He looks up for a second, then back at the ground again.

"Maybe."

Kaminaris pov

I don't want to talk about it ever. But I feel safe with Shinso. Safer than I would with any of my other friends at least.

!Trigger warning again!

"Hey, can I have a look at your arms quickly?."

I nod and he checks over my arms. I was so upset before that I started digging my nails into my arms. I didn't draw blood, just scraped off the top layer of skin, but it's really sweet that he's concerned.

None of you other 'friends' would care.

I dismiss the thought from my mind, but it doesn't go as easily as it usually does.

"How did you find me?" I ask, hoping to distract myself. Shinso's finished checking that I'm ok, looks up at me.

"Bakugo."

"Bakugo?"

"Something about you feeling calmer arounds plants and flowers."
