Chapter 1

*Rose Pov*

I woke up laying on the floor, no surprise there.

I looked down at my legs,and my chest. There where covered in bruises and shaking.

I pulled myself up, and sat on my bed.

I changed into black leggings, and white shirt. I threw on my cardigan, and a scarf.

I looked in the mirror and realized my make up with smeared all around my eyes from crying..

I picked up a washcloth and wiped it off. I put eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara.

"time for school!" My father yelled.

I hate when he yells, it's honestly terrifying.

I grabbed my backpack and grabbed my phone off the charger. I plugged in my earbuds, and walked downstairs.

"You're late! I'm not driving you, you better catch that damn bus." My father said shoving me.

Sometimes I wish I could turn around and shove him back, but I know how that results. A nice punch in the mouth.

I closed my lips, and walked out the door. I lit a cigaratte and smoked it on my way to the bus stop.

When I saw the bus I threw it on the ground, and made sure it was out. I sprayed myself with perfume, and chewed a piece of gum when I got on the bus.

I looked down and saw I had a text from May.

"Hey! Are you coming to school today?"

"Unfortunately yes, my dad found out I was ditching and.. Is forcing me to go." I said.

I wanted to tell May, I really did. But I know she would just run to the police.. My dad would literally hit me till I die if the police showed up to the house.

When my father found out I was skipping, he pushed me down and kicked me multiple times, yelling things like "misfit" and "failure".

My mother on the other hand, is the sweetest woman, well atleast she was, until she packed up her things and never came back.

I still remember the days when her and my father where happy together.. Once he started drinking and doing drugs, he's been a mess. She left, and he turned all his anger on me.

When the bus pulled into school, I sighed and walked to the cafeteria. I met my friends there.

May was wearing a polka for dress, and her long blonde hair was thrown into a cute bun.

My other friend Justin, was sitting there too. Justin had somewhat "scene" hair, and Liked the same bands that I do.

Him and I met last year when we had to pick a song to play in guitar class, and we ironically picked the same song.m

We worked together on it, and preformed it as a duet.

"Hey justin, Hi May." I said, sitting down next to them.

"Hey love." Justin said.
"Hi Rose!" May said, leaning over to hug me.

"We haven't seen you in like 2 weeks.." Justin sighed.

"I know.. I'm sorry guys.." I sighed.

I had a black eye, and there was physically no way to hide it, so I just didn't go till it was gone.

"Hey, we have geometry first period all together guys!" Justin smiled.

The bell rang, and we all walked downstairs to our class.
