*Rose's Pov*

I woke up in the hospital. Tyler was asleep in the chair next to my bed.
There was a nurse in the room, filling out something on the computer.

"Oh you're awake! Would you like some breakfast or anything to eat?" She asked, in a polite voice.

"Sure, can I have some orange juice too?" I asked.

"Of course, I'll be right back." She smiled.

I sat up, and took a deep breath. I was dressed in loose fitting hospital gown, and some light blue doctors pants.

I looked at my arms that where wrapped up tightly with bandages.

"It's finally over." Tyler mumbled.

"He's never going to hurt you again Rose." He said, gently holding my hand and rubbing his thumbs over my fingers.

"Tyler what did you do.." I sighed.

"I heard you screaming Rose! I know you told me never to get law enforcement involved but I had no other choice.. I wanted to be the one to save you." He said warmly.

I leaned over and hugged him.

"You did save my life.." I whispered.

He kissed me on the cheek playfully.

"And you saved mine too." He smiled.

The nurse came back in and handed me a tray with a cup of juice, bacon, eggs & sausages.

"There's a button on the wall next to your bed. I'm your nurse, Heather and if you need me, just push that button." She smiled.

"Okay, thank you." I said, sipping my juice.

"Rose, when you get out of here, you can stay with me if you'd like." Tyler said.

"Please? I don't want to stay alone." I said, quietly.

Someone knocked in the door, and it looked over. It was a shorter older woman.

"Are you Rose..?" She asked looking at a clipboard.

"Yes." I said.

"Okay may I speak with you privately for a few minutes in regard to what happened?" She asked, sweetly.

"Yeah sure,
I'll go sit outside." Tyler smiled, as he walked out of the room.

She sat down next to me, and sighed.

"Well I'm from Child Services. My name is Mary." She said pausing.

"I read the police report, I'm so sorry darling. No one should have to go through things like this." She said.

She flipped the page up and looked at the next one.

"It says here he was intoxicated when he was arrested. Was your father usually under the influence of alcohol?" She asked.

I closed my eyes.

"Yes. Every single day of his life." I choked.

"Don't cry hun, it's okay. You're safe with us now." She smiled.

"Now it says here you'll be 18 soon?" She asked.

"Yes, 2 weeks." I answered.

"Well do you have any family you can stay with when you get out in a few days? Since you're still technically a minor we can't release you without you having a legal guardian." She said.

Looking closer at the paper, she looked up.

"It says here the only family you have listed is your father, where are your mother or grandparents?" She asked, in a sad tone.

"My grandparents have all passed, and no one knows where my mom is she left a long time ago." I said firmly.

"Who was that young man that was with you?" She asked.

"His name is Tyler." I said.

"How is he?" She asked, looking at her papers.

"He's 20 why."

"Could you stay with him?" She asked.

"Yeah, I don't see why not he's my best friend, and my neighbor." I said.

- one week later -

"Ready to go?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah, let's get the hell out of here. I hate hospitals." I laughed.

Tyler and I grabbed my stuff, and walked outside.

When we got to his car, he opened the door for me.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"No problem." He smiled back.

I got in and turned my phone on. I had so many missed texts from May and Justin.

It's surprising they still care.
