As we walk out of the courthouse I feel dizzy with relief. Charlotte is clinging to me and Taylor is holding my hand, "mommy can we have a pool party to celebrate?" A tiny voice pipes up. My heart flutters at the word "mommy" and I look down to find Taylor looking up at me longingly, I chuckle. "Definitely let's get back and have some fun" I giggle. We all get into our cars and head back to my place, the boys all have swimsuits here and get changed quickly. I help the girls get into their swimsuits and they go downstairs with the boys, I quickly throw on a swimsuit and tie my hair up before running outside. Taylor is playing with Mitch and Charlotte is waiting for me, I hop in and she jumps into my arms. I giggle and spin her around, she squeals with delight. I smile and she kicks her tiny feet happily, "I love you mommy!" She giggles. I beam at her, "I love you too my little angel" I say happily. Charlotte smiles but at the same time she's hiding something, she doesn't look too good. She climbs out of the pool and wraps a towel around herself, she wanders back into the house silently.

I hop out of the pool and head in to see if she's okay, I can hear tiny whimpers coming from the bathroom downstairs. I go over and quietly knock on the door, "Charlotte it's mommy can I come in?" I call through the door. I hear a tiny whimper and push the door open, Charlotte is sat on the toilet whimpering. I hear a splash and sigh, "do you have a upset tummy baby?" I ask her gently. She whimpers and I bend down in front of her, I take her tiny hands in mine and rest my forehead on hers. Both girls seem to find comfort in this so I'm hoping it soothes Charlotte, I think the stress of the court has taken it's toll on her tiny body. Charlotte clutches my hands and I can hear her shaky breathing, "deep breaths baby you'll feel better soon" I whisper. Charlotte whimpers until she's finally finished, I help her get cleaned up and gently hold a cold cloth to her sweaty forehead. I pick her up and carry her to the sofa, I curl up in the corner and rock her gently. She ends up falling asleep with her head on my chest, I just stay there with her.

I'm so happy I've saved the girls from that hell hole, I'm going to talk to them tomorrow to find out how they want their room to look and what sort of stuff they like. Apart from the pool the girls don't really have much to do so I want to get them some toys, as a little girl I loved American girl dolls. If we are being honest I still love them now and I'd love to go and see if the girls like them as well, I know there's a store not far from here because I go there sometimes when I just need a little bit of happy in my life. I might take the girls as a special surprise, I feel Charlotte stir on my lap and look down. She gives me a big smile, "hi mommy" she giggles. I bend down and give her a kiss, "hey baby girl, do you and Taylor like dolls?" I ask her. Charlotte's face lights up, "we love dolls, we've never had any though" she says happily. I smile and kiss her forehead. "Maybe we can go somewhere very special tomorrow and get you guys your first dolls and lots of accessories to play with" I say happily, Charlotte's little eyes shine like stars and it's the happiest I've ever seen her. She throws her tiny arms around my neck and gives me the biggest hug, I hug her back and she giggles. "Can we go back outside now?" She asks excitedly "I wanna tell Taylor!". I nod and we head back out, I jump back in and Charlotte jumps into my arms. Taylor swims over, when Charlotte has finished telling Taylor her eyes light up and she squeals in delight. I tell the boys and Mitch smiles, "can I come?" He asks. I chuckle and nod. As it gets later everyone heads home, I give the girls a bath and make chicken nuggets and chips for their tea. Once they've finished munching I take them upstairs and tuck them into bed, I give them both a kiss and head to bed myself...

The_next_morning

I wake up at around 10am, I can hear plenty of giggling coming from the girls room and go to check on them. I find them under their duvet playing a pretend game of caves, I chuckle and lift up the blanket "hey baby bears can momma bear come and play?" I giggle. Taylor giggles and nods, I slide under the covers and give them both a hug. Taylor starts tickling me and I giggle, "you're in for it!" I chuckle. She squeals as I start tickling her back, Charlotte giggles and joins in until we are all tickling each other. I love playing with my girls but we do need to get ready for our special day out, "hey little bears it's time to get dressed so that we can go to the dolls shop today" I say gently. Both girls immediately climb out of bed and run to their wardrobe, Charlotte picks out a pretty blue dress with white flowers and her black shoes and Taylor picks out a rainbow striped t shirt and short dungarees with her trainers. I help them get ready and do their hair and we wait for Mitch, I make Taylor some cinnamon sugar toast whilst we wait and Charlotte has a glass of milk. Mitch actually manages to turn up on time today and both girls are so excited, Mitch drives because I have to sit in the back with the girls. Taylor is fine but Charlotte still doesn't like the car, luckily it's a short drive to the dolls store. The girls smile when we pull up outside...
