Used To Be Lonely

Chap 16

Alexis' POV

"The next song, I personally wrote," I said. "It's called "Somone You Love" and today, I'm going to be playing the guitar." Todd put a guitar on me. "Thanks. Uhm, we hope you enjoy this song as much as I did writing it."

I started playing the guitar.  "I saw you with that ribbon in your hair," sang Devin. "Think that I began to stare, maybe I'll love you for a while."

"A stanger, at a table in a place and a really pretty face," sang Blake. "I wonder what happens when you smile." I smiled.

"I might never be your hero, never been one to fight. That don't mean that I can't be your valentine. And I can't be your savior either, couldn't even if I tried," sang Devin and Blake. "But I, I think I could be someone you love. Baby, I'll treat you right."

"Reading in a coffee shop we share," sang Britney. "Hiding shy behind my hair watching our movie in my mind."

"I promise, promise not to find a way," I sang. "Make a story of today, come on. Give me a try."

"No, I might never stop your sorrow. Fix you up good as new," sang Britney and I. "That don't mean that I can't hold your hand in mine. I might never say "I'm sorry," even if I done you wrong." I smiled at Blake. "But I think I could be someone you love. Baby, I'll treat you right."

I slowed the tempo down. "I may never be your hero but I think I'd like to try. And the way you look at me is your reply," we all sang together. "Got a lot to learn about me, maybe you can start tonight. 'Cause I think I could be someone you love." Blake removed his mic from his stand. "Baby, I'll treat you right," we sang as I strummed the last chords.

"Wow, they did amazing," said Todd. "Here comes the rest of the guys."

"Come on, Britney," I said. We took out mic stand behind the banner. I took off my guitar and handed it to Todd. "Here you go." Britney and I stood behind the banner. "I think they're concert is going to be amazing."

Britney and I stayed with Todd as the concert ended. "We have one more song to perform," said Drew. "We would like to invite Alexis and Britney back onstage with us with their mics." Britney and I grabbed our mic and walked out onstage. "How are you guys?"

"Good, just a little confused," I said.

"Well, have you heard of the song Used To Be Lonely by Varsity Fanclub?" asked Jayk.

"Yeah," said Britney. "Alexis and I are huge VFC fans."

"Well, After Romeo is going to be covering that with you," said Drew. "Let's end this concert with an amazing cover."

"Alright, let's do this," I said. "Okay."

The music started. "Stranded, lying here. Hope had disappeared," sang Blake. "I thought she'd never go. I wasn't part of her story, she told me."

"Out of sight but still on my mind. I tried so hard to leave us behind," sang TC. "No matter what I did, her memory lingered. I can feel her."

"Seperation was so hard," sang Jayk. "Never thought I'd revive my heart."

"I used to be lonely till you saved me. I used to be lonely on my own," sang the guys. "But now I know only you can show me how to love."

"Show me how to love," sang Britney and I.

"I used to be lonely," sang Jayk.

"Only lonely," sang us girls.

"I used to be lonely."
