Title: Bonded
Author: @JungFayZay
Reviewer: Rewrose
Here is my first ever review for an interesting story 'BONDED'.
NOTE: the opinions are strictly from my POV as a reader and are NEVER meant for harming or disrespecting anyone.
1.Title (4.5/5)
The title is well suited for the book & it definitely managed to get my attention, but I could not specifically put it in a genre before reading the book itself. A subtitle would have made the context of the book clearer for readers.
2.Cover (3.5/5)
The book cover is pretty simple. It is a casual cover, stating the story lead which is good enough, a majestic or mystical or any other theme infused cover stating book's leads, events or giving hints of the storyline a bit would have made the book more appealing.
3.Description (4/5)
The book description is short & intact which erks the reader to open up the book to find out what is it about, but the catch is IF the reader is into the book's theme, A Description being the strongest first impression of the book, it should try to throw in a subtle amount of story or should be vague enough for readers having all sorts of tastes to open up the first chapter at least.
4.Grammer and Punctuation (4/5)
There were a few minor grammar mistakes for the chapters I read which could be avoided with a fine lens editing, nothing seriously erroneous.
5.Plot and storyline (19/20)
The plot of this book is a HUGE plus point in my opinion. it's not the usual idol drama or supernatural fic. It's Fay's own take on a subtle supernatural concept which is more closer to reality.
TBH the plot is something which got me completely invested in while reading this one, it is not something entirely new but Fay has managed to deliver her own twist to existing concepts, and sticking to real characters, making the story easily digestible.
The storyline has evolved with a smooth pace and doesn't flood readers with a lot of info or repetitive scenes.
6.Pacing (5/5)
Pacing is just right for this story, it is not something too confusing or too tedious to read.
7. Emotions and characters (3.5/5)
The number of active characters in the story is really less compared to characters introduced, It might be due to the early phase of the story, I hope to read a well-developed character profile for sub cast introduced. As far as the emotion part is concerned they are delivered very well till now by the active characters.
8.Ending (No scores)
As the story is still ongoing & in the beginning phase, there is no ending given yet & I am really looking forward to a whole bunch of upcoming chapters and climax because of an interesting plot.
9.Personal Enjoyment (4.5/5)
I really enjoyed the book so far and it's actually refreshing to read this book. The things I found troublesome was the way chapters are designed, it's actually eye-straining and unusual to read chapters styled in BOLD entirely, usually, bolds are to differentiate time-lapses or important stuff, but here BOLD acted as the default style for background details which didn't sit quite well with me.Another thing worth pointing out was the chapter length, I think the chapters can be shortened a bit for the sake of readers like me who enjoy reading whole chapters in one go (3500-word max), It will keep the readers invested and authors will have more time to curate storyline.
