*6 months later*Syra was awake, it had been hours since she was trying to sleep. Her nausea was not helping her. Sitting on the bed she tried to calm her nerves. She drank water and breathed deeply but nothing worked.
Going outside her balcony she sat at stairs that led down towards the patio. She gazed at the clear sky, no stars or moon was in sight. She leaned her head to the railing and just breathed in the scent of her surroundings.
Shahmeer in his sleep reached out for her but was met with crumpled sheets and vacant pillow. Waking up he groaned not seeing her beside him. Thinking it is already morning he got up and acknowledged the darkness around him, indicating it is still night. Furrowing his eyebrows he looked for her. In the bathroom, in the walk-in closet. She was nowhere. He then noticed the door that led to the patio downstairs open. He sauntered there only to see her lost in thoughts, unable to sleep again.
"It is still late and you should be sleeping."
She was startled and a small yelp escaped her lips. Shaking her head she glared at him. Blaming him for not being able to sleep.
"You! I am angry at you. Because of you, I am not able to sleep." she huffed and looked ahead her lips contorted in a pout.
"I'm sorry, I know after all only I was the one to get you pregnant and not you." His sarcastic remark made her angrier.
"Yes! It is all you! Don't talk to me. You have no compassion left for me." A few teardrops escaped her eyes and she turned her head away. He who was teasing now panicked seeing her crying. In a second he was by her side and hugged her to his chest. Her sobs now muffled and her tears soaking his shirt.
"I am sorry, meri Jaan, I love you more than anyone you know. I am sorry I was just teasing you. I promise if you will stop crying I will take you out for ice cream tomorrow". He bit his tongue as soon as the promise left his mouth.
"You really promise to take me out for ice cream", She said it with scrunched brows and a childish grin on her face- one that is formed when the child is permitted to eat more than one chocolate- her innocent facial expression tugged at his heartstrings. Making him fall all over in love with her again.
Nodding his head he picked her up in his arms and carried her to bed.
"Meer let's go now. I'm craving ice cream and you know I won't be able to sleep without having it." Syra looked up at him, her lips jutted out and quivering. Shahmeer had no other option but to comply.
