"I promise-I don't care how hard it's gonna be or how long it takes because when it's my time, when I'm up and it's my turn to fly, I'm taking you to the sky with me, I can't do it without you,"

"Can you get off already please," Mari groaned, laying back in his bed. Mari had the day off, as they were going to the airport and flying out to Maui tomorrow morning at 7:50. He still had to work, he didn't want to miss any days before taking off.
"I only got three more hours, Tinka. Ima see you soon," he chuckled, opening up the tupperware container with the rest of the lunch she made him. "Whatchu been doing all day, beautiful?" he asked and she smiled at his words.
"Well, after you left I went back to sleep, and I slept for so long, like I don't even understand why," she chuckled. "But, I went and got an iced coffee, and I went to get my nails and toes done, got my wax, just little errands," she explained. "You been working hard, baby?"
"Hell yeah," he huffed. Now that he was doing twelve hour shifts, he was back in the warehouse every day and it took a toll on him physically. "I'm tired man, seem like this was the slowest ten hours of my life," he chuckled.
"I'm sorry," she frowned. "I'll have food for you when you get back, and then you can go to sleep," she nodded. Usually, she didn't see him on days when he worked all these hours unless she made it to his apartment before he fell asleep, because once he was gone he was only waking up to eat or use the bathroom.
"I appreciate you, baby, thank you," he smiled a bit.
"You're very welcome," she blew an exaggerated kiss at him through the phone and he laughed. "Oh! Man lemme tell you bout how the wax lady damn near took my shit off!" she exclaimed and he choked on his water laughing at her.

"Emari!" Xavion called when he walked through his front door, immediately yawning afterwards, kicking his shoes off and undoing the top buttons on his uniform shirt. He went to call her again and the door to his room opened, revealing Emari in nothing but an old t-shirt of his that hit right below her behind, and her silk scarf protecting her braids.
She yawned and wiped her eye, looking in his direction and smiled.
"Hey Dooda," she spoke quietly, walking over and hugging her arms around his torso.
