At school, everyone was talking about Halloween.
The costumes the teenagers had worn the previous years were still somewhere on their attics or in the back of their closets, but none of those seemed to fit anymore, especially for the seniors.
As kids, they had worn cute outfits that at that time for them seemed scary. But a seventeen-year-old couldn't go trick-or-treating dressed as a strawberry anymore. No one would have taken them seriously, and it simply didn't seem as fun anymore.
So, as the underclassmen were talking in a frenzy about their sexy kitty cat and nurse outfits while the jocks would simply stay at home, too cool for any of it, the seniors were planning their outfits for their annual party.
Jason Blossom had thrown a lot of parties back when in high school, and Cheryl had always been included and allowed to bring a few of her friends. Then, when her brother left for college, she took over.
This year was the first year Betty would go. And she had the perfect costume in mind.
"Jughead," she immediately said when entering the classroom that had always stayed empty for lunch before being occupied by her friend group.
All heads turned toward her and the boy smiled as he watched her approach. "Whoa, you're not supposed to be running," he joked when she reached him within a second.
The girl rolled her eyes with a small smile on her face and leaned up to give his mouth a kiss. She tried to pull away a moment later, but Jughead's hands gripped her waist and he pulled her flush against himself, making the girl gasp quietly, her mouth falling open and giving the access for his tongue to enter.
The soft feeling of his tongue against hers made her weak at the knees.
"Alright, break it up you two," they heard Reggie saying a while later. "We're all still here you know."
Jughead chuckled as he leaned away, pecking her lips once more, while Betty's cheeks were slightly flushed as she took a seat on the table behind her.
"Was kissing me why you ran in here with such a strong expression of decision and a demanding tone?"
The girl rolled her eyes at his words and shook her head. "Actually," she slowly started, anticipating his reaction.
"Yes?" he said the same way, already able to tell she wanted something from him.
"I thought of a Halloween costume for us," she said with a slight hint of a smile on her lips.
The guy groaned and threw his head back while a few others in the room laughed. "Please, no," he begged teasingly.
"Shut up," Betty immediately said. "Besides, it's not that bad."
"It might not be bad," Cheryl started, "but cous, don't you think no one should see you in a couple's costume?"
"Actually, that's what's so great about it," Betty said and smiled at her before focusing back on Jughead whose hands were rested on her bare knees, patiently waiting for her to break the news.
"Tell me," he sighed.
"Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson."
He stared at her for a moment before a smirk appeared on his lips as his eyes wandered down her choice of clothing. The cute pink jean skirt and white sweater she was wearing did kind of suite Sandy. And the leather jacket and black hair were perfect for him.
"And why do you think no one would be able to tell?" he asked.
"Well, you dress almost exactly the same as he does."
