payton's pov
the day after

i get up and get in my car, driving to tess's house. i walk in and go upstairs. i look in tess's room and see her laying in bed, cuddling with quinton. not exactly what i was expecting. i turn around and walk out of the house. they were both sleeping so it's not like they knew i was there. i know she isn't dating me, but i mean i thought we had something going. i'm just gonna stay home for a while. i get out my phone and text tessa.

hey i'm going to stay at my moms for a couple weeks. i just been missing her.

tess's pov
a month later

payton doesn't really come over anymore. i dont mind it tho. i really like quinton. he's nicer than anyone i've ever met.

"hey tess, after school let's go to the beach." quinton says, walking up to me in the hallway.

"ok sure." i smile at him. he kisses my forehead. payton used to do that. i walk to class.

end of school day

"ok tess, let's go to the beach." he says. (a/n let's go to the beach beach...nikki minjaj😂) we go to the car and drive to the beach.quinton picks me up and puts me over his shoulder. he starts walking through the water.

"quinton what are you doing? QUINTON NO STOP-" i laugh and scream as he throws me into the water. i come back up and just give him the most evil eyes.

"i will get you back for this." i tell him. i go on the sand and grab my phone and call quintons mom.

"tess what are you doing?" he asks.

"hello, quinton has been misbehaving in class and will be in huge trouble for the next few weeks. he's going to be suspended." i hang up the phone and start dying laughing. quinton looks at me and his mouth hangs open. he chases me and eventually throws me back in the water. we both start splashing water at each other and i slip in the water. he catches me and we both laugh. it gets quiet. but not in an awkward way, a peaceful way.

"be my girlfriend." quinton says and looks at me.

"what?" i say kind of shocked.

"be my girlfriend." he repeats.

"really?" i smile.

"yes really." he laughs.

"ok. yeah. yes, yes i will be your girlfriend." i smile and he kisses me. i run out of the water and grab my phone. i get on a group facetime with the girls.

"guys guess what." i say.

"what?" they all ask at the same time.

"im not single anymoreeee." i say as quinton appears into the frame.

"omggg." kallie says. all the girls cover their mouths except for riley.

"so you're not with payton?" riley asks.

"no..?" i say confused. riley hangs up.

"i-" nicole says.

"well i'm gonna go, i'll talk to you guys later. love youuuuu." i tell them.

"we love you booooo." savannah says.

"love yaaaa." kallie says.

"bye babe we love youuu." nicole says and we hang up. i turn around and look and quinton and he picks me up and i start laughing.

2 weeks later

i walk into the hallway, about to go home. i grab my keys out of my bag and when i look up i see payton. we make eye contact. i decide to walk up to him, cause why not? right?
