𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞

a few years later

"payton is paislee dressed?" i yell across the hall.

"yeah, i just need to find her other shoe!" he yells back.

"ok, is grayson in there?" i ask.

"yeah, he's dressed and ready to go." payton says and we go to the car and put the kids in the car.

"i can't believe paislee is 4." i say.

"i know she's getting so big. and grayson is already 2." payton says. i smile and look back at the kids.

"ok so paislee and i are going to savannah's house at 1 for a play date so you'll have to pick grayson up from daycare after work." i say.

"alright. and then later tonight kallie is watching the kids, while we go on our date and have some time together." payton says.

"ooou sounds fun." i say and laugh. we drop the kids off at daycare and then we go back to the house and clean up everything before payton leaves for work.

"bye, i'll see you at 7." payton says and walks out of the door. i get around and then go to work.

later at savannah's house

"paislee you are getting so big." savannah says and paislee hugs her.

"adalynn is growing upppp." i say, hugging savannah's kid.

"i cant even believe paislee and adalynn have the same birthday." savannah says.

"i know it's so weird." i say and paislee and adalynn are playing with their toys.

"ma come here." paislee says. i bend down next to her.

"when is daddy coming home?" she asks. *a/n yes i cringe at that word but she's 4 so shut up*

"he'll be home later lee lee." i say.

"okay ma." she sighs.

"i love you." i say.

"i love you too ma." she says back and kisses my cheek.

"she's so sweet." savannah says as i stand back up.

"addy i love you." savannah says.

"i love you too savannah." adalynn says.

"no addy my name is mom." savannah says.

"ok mom." adalynn says.

"she's still learning." savannah says and we laugh.

later that night

i dropped paislee off at kallies house and payton dropped grayson off. we meet up at the house and then go to a nice restaurant.

"we never get much alone time." i say and laugh a little.

"i know, i love the kids but man this is nice." payton laughs.

"remember when we were like 18?" i ask.

"how could i forget?" payton says and laughs.

"we fought over stupid stuff. like omg remember quinton?" i ask.

"yes." payton starts laughing.

"did i really pick him over you?" i ask and laugh.

"i don't know but you picked me in the end and that's that." payton says, crossing his arms and putting his chin up.

"i remember when we got married. i totally forgot that we got married on my birthday." i say.

"it feels like so long ago yet it feels like it was just yesterday when you were standing in your dress." payton says.

"i love this payton." i say.

"love what? this date...orrr?" he asks.

"well i love the date but i meant i love us. i love our house and our two kids. i'm so happy and i'm so thankful for everything." i smile at him.

at home

"we have to pick up the kids soon." i say as we lay in bed beside each other.

"we will." payton says.

"you do know i love you, right?" i ask, turning and looking at him.

"you are a beautiful person, with beautiful eyes, and beautiful hair. with beautiful lips, and a beautiful nose. with small, beautiful ears. and a beautiful face. you have a beautiful smile, and i will always love you." payton says.

and in this moment, i feel so sure of my future, of what's yet to come. i never knew if i would make it through life successfully. if i would ever get what i dreamed of. that payton moormeier, would be the one to sweep me off my feet. and that is exactly the future i got.
