ˢʷᵉᵉᵖ ᵐᵉ ᵒᶠᶠ ᵐʸ ᶠᵉᵉᵗ {ᶜᵒᵐᵖˡᵉᵗᵉᵈ}

𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲

i hang up without skipping a beat. i don't hesitate i just run out the door and drive. i drive and i drive and i drive. i drive so fast my whole body is numb i need to slow down but i can't, i won't. i can see the hospital. i park in the closest spot to me and sprint into the hospital. i run to his room and see him.

"tess." he smiles.

"is this real? do you really know who i am?" i ask, kind of skeptically.

"you are a beautiful person, with beautiful eyes, and beautiful hair. with beautiful lips, and a beautiful nose. with small, beautiful ears. and a beautiful face. you have a beautiful smile, and i will always love you." he smiles and says without missing a beat. i start breaking down in tears.

"i love you so much." i whisper, hugging him tightly.

"i get discharged today." he tells me.

"wait but i thought you had to recover from surgery?" i pull away from the hug.

"they said that since i gained my memory back, it shows i've been improving quickly so they think it's safe to send me home i just have to take it easy." he tells me. i go back into the hug and the doctor walks in.

"ok so we ran tests and it seems like you're ready to be discharged. i just need to go get the paperwork and i'll be right back." the doctor tells us and walks away. she comes back with papers and payton signs them. we pack his things and take him home.

at my house

payton and i are laying in bed and he's playing with my hair.  i open my phone to see what time it is. i look at the date. february 22nd.

"omg payton. it's your birthday." i say.

"it is?" he asks.

"yeah it is." i laugh.

"oh well." he says.

"dont you wanna go do something? i can invite the girls over, you can invite your friends. we can have a party and everything." i tell him.

"tess i don't want a big party or anything." he tells me.

"ok..well, what do you want?" i laugh a little.

"i just wanna hang out with you. just us. nobody else." he says. i lean in and kiss him.

"i missed this so much." i tell him, after pulling away from the kiss.

"i could never forget you for long."
