☀︎︎Jules and I are sitting at the dinner table when dad comes down the stairs. "Oh good, You're home. I was about to go watch your brothers game. I've had photoshoots all day. Didn't even get a chance to eat." I tilt my head. "But, I got a phone call today." Julie and I look at each other.
While Jules takes off her glasses, I leave mine on. "Yeah, we figured as much."
Dad sighs. "Yeah. Well, it was my realtor friend."
I look at him in relief. "Oh, that."
"Yeah, and she says if we are serious about selling the house, then she wants me to take some pictures for the website. Which means we have a lot of cleaning to do and get rid of some stuff. And maybe... you guys can tackle mom's studio?" We both look down. "You guys are the experts. You know, your brother and I wouldn't even know where to begin." He pauses. "It's okay. If you're not ready, I-"
Julie shakes her head. "No. It's alright. Maybe we'll try tonight."
Dad looks at us and smiles. "Yeah?" He claps. "Awesome, mija. Thank you. Oh, and don't forget the loft. You know, those old instruments that were there when we moved in? They need a new home."
I smile. "Mom would like that."
"Yeah, she would." He looks down at his watch. "Oh, god. I'm gonna be late."
We look at each other and look back before smiling. "Under the mail."
Dad snaps his fingers. "You guys are lifesavers." Just as he's about to walk towards the door, he looks back at us. "Still creeped out on how you two do that talking-at-the-same-time thing." We giggle as he calls down for our brother.

Julie and I slowly walk down to the studio, hesitating at the doors. I grab her hand. She smiles at me and we both reach for the doors. I separate from her to flip the light switch. It illuminates the entire place. I look around in awe. I forgot how beautiful this place is. I turn to look at the piano where Julie sat down.
"I'm so sorry, mom. That I haven't been here." I let her sit there in private as I walk around towards the stairs. Climbing up, I look around before spotting a CD. I grab it and examine it. Opening it, I see a group of four cute boys. One of them really stood out to me as I looked at it more carefully and in my opinion, he was the cutest of them all. I'd even use the word hot, and I never say that. As I climb back down, Julie looks at me in curiosity. "What is that?"
"A CD. It says 'Sunset Curve'."
"Never heard of it. Is it a band?"
"Yeah, a very cute band."
Julie raises her eyebrows. "Oh, are they now?" I laugh and slap her arm. "Well, go on! Play it!" She rushes me towards the CD player as I laugh.
"OK, OK. Geez." I place the disk in the stereo and press play. We sit on the couch as we listen. "Wait, this is really good!" Before she can respond, screaming surrounds us. We cover our ears as it only gets louder. Julie looks at me in fear.
"Where is that coming from?!" I can only shrug. We turn just in time to see a group of boys appear out of nowhere and fall to the floor. We look at each other and back as we listen to them groan in pain.
"Woah! How did we get back here?" My sister and I scream. They soon join in on the screaming and grab for each other. Without a second thought, we run out of the studio and to the front yard. Dad and Carlos are standing there.
"Woah! Slow down. You guys look like you've seen a ghost."
"We have!"
"Cool." We look at our brother in exasperation.
"Not cool!" With that, we go towards the house, screaming 'run' as we go. I follow Julie into her room and we hide behind her bean bag chair, slowly looking up at the window. She takes out her phone and goes to messages. "Come on, Flynn. 911 means 911! Why aren't you answering me?"
"Hey." We gasp and turn around.
I sigh in relief. "Dad."
He smiles. "Sorry. Just wanted to make sure you guys were okay."
"You don't believe us, do you?"
"Honey, of course I do. Mija, I see your mom all the time."
Julie speaks up. "This isn't like that."
Dad nods his head. "I know. It's different for all of us."
"Dad, you're not listening to us. We saw something out there."
He tries to calm us down. "All right. Okay, okay. I'm listening. Tell me what you guys saw. It's just us here."
"You sound just like Dr. Turner."
"Well, maybe seeing Dr. Turner again isn't such a bad idea."
"Dad! Can we just drop it?"
"All right. Dropped." He stands up and puts a finger out from each hand. "We good?"
We put our fingers against his and curl it. "Yeah." Dad walks out and Julie turns towards the window as I grab the cross from her wall.
