I wake up with familiar breath fanning my neck. I feel the familiar warmth I've woken up to the past few months.
Poe? How did I get in here? I thought I fell asleep by Mom...
"Morning, sunshine," Poe mutters.
"Sunshine? What's with the new nickname, Hotstuff?" I ask, coming up with a new name for him too.
"I thought it was cute. Just. Like. You," he kisses my neck innocently.
"Oh stop it," I chuckle and hide my reddening face. We're engaged and yet he can still fluster me.
"Poe! Amaya! We need to talk. In private," Finn burst through our door, ruining the moment.
"Alright, alright. You really kill the moments we always seem to have, Finn," I say standing from the bed and stretching.
"Maybe you guys just have bad timing?" Finn shrugs jokingly.
"Get out," Poe points to the door.
Finn puts his hands up and walks back out the door. Poe stands and wraps his arms around me.
"Where were we, my dear?"
"You were about to kiss me, I think." I smile.
"Ah, yes." He leans down and presses his lips to mine. It's a quick but very passionate kiss.
Poe and I strip out of our current outfits and get into our clean clothes. Poe grabs his new jacket and I slip on his old one. I breathe in his scent that his jacket holds.
"You might have to start wearing this again so we can replenish the signature 'Poe Dameron' smell," I say.
"Okay," Poe says, chuckling and hugging me.
"We should probably get going," I mutter in the hug.
"Yeah, probably. I currently have a streak for not listening, though," Poe says.
"That's a streak you should break as soon as possible, Flyboy," I say pulling out of our hug.
"Alright, fine," he answers sarcastically.
"Come on, Hotstuff," I grab his hand and walk him out the door.
We walk down the halls hand in hand. We walk past a door then get aggressively pulled inside.
"Alright, you two. We need your help," Finn looks at us.

"Just, give it to us, one more time, simpler," Poe says to the pair standing in front of us.
"So the First Order's only tracking us from one Destroyer, the lead one," Finn says.
"So we blow that one up?" Poe and I ask in sync.
"I like where your heads are at, but no. They'd only start tracking us from another Destroyer," Finn says.
"But if I can-" the girl gets cut off by Finn continuing.
"But if we can sneak on board the lead Destroyer and disable to tracker without them realizing, then we can..." this time it's the girl's turn to cut Finn off.
"They won't realize it's off for one system cycle. About six minutes," the girl says.
"Sneak on board. Disable the tracker," Finn says as a hologram of the lead destroyer comes up. "Our fleet escapes before they realize."
"Hmm," I hum in agreement. Poe and I stand.
"How'd you two meet?" Poe points between the two. I walk over to my mom.
"Just luck," the girl says.
"Yeah? Good luck?" Poe asks.
He walks behind me and wraps his arm around my waist. He leans and places a gentle kiss to my temple. I lean into his touch, enjoying the feeling of him near me.
"Not sure yet," the girl answers.
"Guys, we gotta do this," Finn says. "It'll save the fleet and it'll save Rey."
I grab my mom's hand and look at her. Tears form in my eyes. I blink them back, not wanting to cry in front of Finn and the new girl.
"If I must be the soul voice of reason, Admiral Holdo will never agree to this plan," C-3PO says.
"Yeah. You're right, Threepio. It's a 'need to know' plan, and she doesn't," I say.
"What? Miss Amaya Solo, being rebellious now?" Poe looks at me in disbelief.
"If it saves our fleet, I'll do anything." I look back to my mother. "Alright. You guys shut down that tracker," I walk over to the table with the hologram on it. "Poe and I will be here to jump us to lightspeed." I flip a few switches as Poe looks to the pair.
"The question is how do we sneak the two of you onto Snoke's Destroyer?" Poe asks.
"We steal clearance codes," the girl says.
"No. They're biohexacrypted and descramble every hour," Finn says. "We can't get through their security shields undetected. Nobody can."
I think for a second. "Maz. Maz could do it," I say.
"She can?" Finn asks.
"Maz can do anything," I smile at the man. I walk over to the holographic communicator in the corner. I dial in Maz and she answers.
"Hey, Maz!" I greet.
"Hey, Kiddo! How're ya doin'?" She asks while shooting at something.
"I'm fine, Maz, thanks. Can we ask you a favor?" I ask.
"Of course. Anything for a Solo," she says.
"Could you get us onto Snoke's Star Destroyer?" I ask.
"Could I do it?" She asks. "Of course I could do it! But I can't do it! I'm a little tied down right now!" She fires at something.
"Maz? What is happening?" Finn asks.
"Union dispute. You do not want to hear about it. But, lucky for you, there's exactly one guy I trust who can crack that kind of security. He's a master code breaker, an ace pilot, a poet with a blaster," she says.
"Oh my. It sounds like this codebreaker fellow can do everything," Threepio says.
"Oh, yes, he can," Maz says. I cringe. Ew. "You will find him with a red plom bloom on his lapel, rolling at a high-stakes table in the casino on Canto Bight."
"Canto Bight? No, no. That's... Maz... is there any way that we can take care of this ourselves?" Poe asks.
"Sorry, kiddo. This is rarefied cracking. You want to get on that Destroyer, I only know one option. Find the Master Codebreaker," Maz says before the hologram ends.
Poe and I turn and sigh. Finn holds out the cloaked binary beacon we have for Rey. Poe takes it from his hand.
"Be careful, you two," I say.
"We will," the girl says. "I'm Rose, by the way."
"Amaya," I answer.
"I know. I mean, you're a Resistance hero. Everyone knows about you three," Rose says happily.
