Just then, we heard the dinner bell. We walked in the house, still soaking wet.
"Oh my! What happened to you two?" Gloria exclaimed, not realizing how innocent it was.
"Bonnie and I were having fun! She taught me to swing, and we ran through the sprinklers!"
"Oh really? That's fantastic! I'm glad you had fun sweetie." Gloria paused for a moment before speaking again.
"Now you two go get dried and dressed!"
We went upstairs to his- well 'our' bedroom. We both undressed and put on dry clothes.
We went back down to the dining room. Dandy sat down, and Gloria called for me before I could do the same.
Bonnie, may I please talk to you?"
I glanced at dandy to get his permission, I knew he didn't want me talking to anyone without his consent. He just smiled and nodded.
I followed as Gloria led me into a small room, a home library; with two chairs, and thousands of books.
We sat down, she held my hand, as she became teary eyed.
"Thank you Bonnie. Thank you so much."
"For what?" I didn't think I had done anything special for her.
"Thank you for spending time with Dandy, for being his friend.
He has never had a friend, he's always been forced to play alone. You are the first person to ever make him happy. I can tell just by the way you look at each other, it's love. Thank you, for loving my son when no one else could."
She hugged me tightly before I could even respond.
I now understood everything, why he held me hostage, why he needed to know that I loved him. I couldn't help but to wonder, did he really love me, or did he love the idea of being loved?
Gloria led me back into the dining room. "Dear, just have Dora bring you a chair, you can sit at that end of the table, next to Dandy." Before I could call for Dora, she had already gotten me a chair, and placed it right next to Dandy's. I had made it a point to watch him carefully, trying to understand whether he loves me, or loves my love.
He didn't speak much during dinner, I wondered if it was because Gloria was paying attention to him, and he didn't need me anymore. After Dora served us a big dinner, and we finished eating, I decided I needed to get another opinion.
Gloria believed Dandy & I were in love, but I thought that she was imagining it, only because she so badly wanted to see her son in love.
"Dandy, is it okay if I go help Dora with the dishes? It's just that she's been cooking and cleaning for me, one more person for her to take care of, and she doesn't ask for anything in return. I want to help just this one time, to show my appreciation."
"Yeah, go ahead." He smiled.
I went into kitchen, Dora quickly turned around. "Now, what are you doing in here sweetie? I know you have better things to do than come in here and help me."
"Well, I actually need to ask you something."
"Come, sit."
We sat down at the small table against the kitchen wall.
"What's that question you needed to ask?"
"Do you think that Dandy really loves me?"
"Sweetie, I do think he loves you. He's been introduced to many beautiful young ladies in the past, he said they were all boring. He must find you interesting, he seems to really enjoy being around you."*

Authors Note-
Yes, this chapter sucks I know.
It's just a quick chapter because I haven't updated in a few days! I guess I shouldn't have posted every chapter all at once haha. Now I'll try to update 2-3 times a week so I don't run out of chapters so quickly.
