We walked downstairs. Well...I did. He slid down the banister. I met him at the bottom. He fell on his face though. We walked to the living room and sat down.
"So what if we ditch the movie and go to a party instead?,"Noah asked typing away on his phone.
Max was looking at the TV...didn't even see us walk down the stairs. Ryan and Max made no eye contact with one another.
"Sure,"Ryan said with a small shrug.
"Um...another party?,"I asked biting my lip.
"Yeah,"Devon said chuckling. "Your going to another party with us."
"Yep,"Max said channel surfing.
"Ughhh,"I groaned. "Fine. I'll go."
The four smiled and stood up. Ryan grabbed his leather jacket and grabbed my hand. "I'll take you home."
"What about the party?,"I asked. He made the 'are you serious' look and pulled me out the door. "You have to put on your clothes or they'll think we're friends with benefits."
He grabbed my hand and helped me get onto his black motorcycle. I wrapped my arms around his waist tightly and leaned my head against his back.
"But we aren't,"I said defensively.
"I know. But people gossip and spread crap."
I nodded. "Yeah...what do I wear to a party?"
He grinned. "Something that'd catch a guys attention."
I had no idea what I was gonna wear.
"Okay."
I jumped off his motorcycle and made a hard hit when I fell on my clumsy ass face. It was so embarrassing. I heard him trying to hold in a laugh which made it even more noticeable he wanted to laugh so damn hard. I stood up and looked at him. His eyes got wide as he noticed I caught him holding in his laughter.
"Ryan,"I said through my tight jaw. "Your a spawn of the devil."
"Then maybe you could wear red tonight? You'd be my satin queen,"he winked. "You can straighten me up for my bad behavior."
I smacked his muscular arm. "You perv...when are you picking me up?"
"I was gonna wait here with you."
"My parents are home,"I said gesturing to my mom and dad's cars.
He shrugged. "Got a window?"
I walked around the house. "Wait here. I'll open it for you when my parents leave me be."
He nodded and sat against the house pulling out a cigarette.
I walked into the house trying to avoid my parents. I usually could get away with it...but I smelled of guy cologne, alcohol, and over used perfume. Maybe some chlorine.
"Mackenzie! Where have you been?!"
"With friends."
"Since when did you have friends?,"she asked holding back a smile.
I glared at her. "Shut the fuck up mom and leave me alone."
"Mackenzie. Don't treat your mother like that. She does so much for you,"dad said walking into the kitchen in his business suit. Dad was the one who made the money. Mom worked at a diner. Dad worked for Apple. I just didn't use his money. He wouldn't let me.
"Whatever,"I said. "I'm gonna be in my room."
Mom rolled her eyes and dad looked at me like I was some failed science experiment.
