Prompt: home

Pairing: DabiHawks

TW: found family, anxious thoughts, I only write angst, so y'all know where this is going

AU: Hawks and Touya have a penthouse, no hero/villain stuff, tho they have quirks, take in Touya's younger brother, Shouto!

Keigo watches as Touya knocks on the kitchen island. His husband was supposed to cut up some chives for their omelets, but Keigo's content on dicing them himself.

Touya doesn't even know he disassociated, but that's okay.

Keigo knows now that this is normal for Touya. Most mornings, he'll jump back into a memory or thought, dismissing the real world.

Keigo sighs in content, sprinkling the bits of chives on his and Touya's egg. He opens the fridge, grabbing a bag of shredded cheese and milk.

The winged man sets the plates at the breakfast table, sneaking the bag of cheese conveniently next to Shouto's plate. He then pours milk into each person's glass except Touya's, which is already filled with water.

"Sho! Breakfast is ready. Come on down and eat!" He yells up to his brother-in-law, though he's more of Keigo's kid.

Keigo stands next to Touya, rubbing his back.

"To? You there with me, love?" He asks gently.

Touya jerks, blinking a few times around the room.

"Shit, sorry. I didn't cut the chives."

Keigo shakes his head, smiling.

"Don't worry about it, I forgot to salt the chicken yesterday; we'll make it even."

The Todoroki family agreed on having a system. Every other night, Keigo would prepare the food for the day, sometimes with Shouto's help. They had strict routines of doing laundry, going to the store, for Shouto, doing homework and meeting with friends, and for Keigo, completing everything for work. Not to mention Touya's annual hospital visit.

Keigo smiles as he watches Shouto walk down the stairs, uniform on, and school bag in hand.

"Good morning, Shouto," Keigo smiles, finding his spot at the table.

"Good morning, Keigo, Tou-Chan. I have a test today; I thought I should let you know. I'm also meeting with Aizawa at lunch," Shouto nods, sitting down. He taps his foot on the ground, dissatisfied with the sound it makes.

"Good luck, what's it on?" Touya asks, standing behind his chair.

"Maths. Algebra. Stuff I'll never understand."

Keigo laughs, biting on the egg.

"Whatever you get, we'll be supportive. You know the drill, however, if it's below 80 percent, Touya's helping you understand the topic."

Shouto nods, mumbling something underneath his breath.

"I-uh, also have something to tell you," he awkwardly fidgets with his fork. Touya takes his seat.

"ImayhaveacrushonBakugoubutimstillworkingoutthisfeelingand-."

"Calm down, sport. Say it slower," Touya smile is small, not wanting to disturb his healing, painful scars.

"I may have a crush on a boy from my school. His name is Bakugou Katsuki," Shouto whispers, slower.

Keigo nods.

"Oh, I remember him. I think I saw him at the store once. He's handsome, Sho!" Touya laughs, immediately wincing in pain.

Shit.

"I owe ten bucks to a certain bunny. Go get him, Shouto," Keigo laughs, eyes his husband in concern.

Shouto nods, thanking the two.

"I have to head to school now. I want to get there early to study."

Keigo nods.

"Have a nice day."

"You too."

He hears the apartment door shut, immediately facing his husband.

"What's the matter? Do you need an MHD?" Keigo asks.

Aw, yes. Keigo was also massive on "MHD," which stands for mental health day. It's a day where you do absolutely nothing except what you need to relieve stress or anxiety. Shouto's up to fourteen this month alone, and they were all on weekends.

Touya's, however, was different.

The whole reason Keigo took up his detective job was that the company let him work from home any days he wanted. This meant when Touya needed an MHD, Keigo was always there.

Since Touya didn't want a job, he was to busy getting his health up back to speed.

This was how their home worked.

"No, I'm fine. You have to leave for work at nine. It would be best if you showered," Touya assured.

Keigo nodded, still suspicious.

"Sure. Will you be okay cleaning up breakfast?" he asks.

Touya nods, already starting to clean off the table.

Keigo makes his way upstairs and into the bathroom.

He opens the medicine cabinet, rummaging through to find what he's trying to look for.

Touya had a bad habit of throwing drugs in the medicine cabinet.

God damn.

Keigo turns on the shower, not bothering to clean himself.

He wasn't going to work anyway.

He waits a couple of minutes before shutting everything off and traveling downstairs, finding Touya cleaning the dishes.

"We have to talk."
