Jane slept fitfully. It didn't help that she'd only gotten about four hours of sleep and there was a guy she didn't know well in her guest room. Stormy meowed at her and she got up. The coffee had gone off on time. She'd checked into her flight before she'd gone to bed. Her bags were packed, she had her passport, Jane was ready.
She was doing her usual routine when Brady came out of the room. He was wearing pants and a t shirt. He must've been up for awhile to look that amazing.
"Did you sleep ok? I've never slept in there so I don't know if the bed is comfortable I'll give Carole credit, she won't do anything in my room and everything is always washed and changed by the time I get back from wherever it is I go, usually to see Abbie, dad and the boys. Sorry, I'm rambling. I didn't sleep well and I'm tired. When I'm tired I ramble"
"Relax. I slept fine. I'm tired too and the fact I have to play the Buffalo Erie's tonight is pissing me off. I feel like I've been run over by a truck. I need coffee."
"Put it in the travel mug. You can return it to me at the arena when I go back there in a few weeks. I've got to shower and get ready. Gotta love business wear on a coast to coast flight."
Brady cleaned up the coffee after pouring it into the mug. She was meticulous to say the least. Everything was neat and organized. He found it hard to believe that people lived like this. Even the Chinese food they'd had last night was put away in an orderly fashion in the fridge. She labeled anything and everything. He liked that in a woman
Twenty minutes passed and Jane emerged from her bedroom. She looked amazing with her hair in a French knot, black knit wrap dress and black and white pumps.
"Wow. You look stunning for someone who's only slept for three hours."
"Ha. Makeup magic. I plan on sacking out on the plane. iPad. Ear buds. Movie and goodnight. We really need to go especially if we're going to beat traffic."
Just then her phone went off it was from
The PHL. "HI JANE, BRANDON HERE. HOPE YOU HAVEN'T LEFT YET. AM CANCELLING YOUR FLIGHT OUT. CHANGE OF PLANS. YOU WILL FLY OUT TOMORROW INSTEAD. DETAILS TO FOLLOW THANKS. SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, BRANDON""Damnit. They cancelled me. I'm
Leaving tomorrow instead. I did all of this work for nothing. That pisses me right off. I hope this isn't going to be a thing.""They do this a lot. Switching up people left and right. No biggie. Since my practice isn't until 10 and you've been bumped, how about a another three hours of sleep?! Lord knows her can both use it."
Jane quickly sent a text to her dad and Abbie explaining the change, and she'd text them her new itinerary when she got it. Her dad was already up and texted back he understood and would remind Abbie. She quickly undressed and crawled back into bed. Stormy was quick to show his disapproval.
"Sorry boy. I'm exhausted, crawl in." Stormy happily obliged and in no time was nuzzled up against her. They both slept peacefully
Brady took the time to sneak out and head home to Queens. He thought it best that he wasn't here when she woke up. He stripped the sheets and clothes he'd worn to bed off and threw them into the washing machine. He'd also left her a note
"JANE. DECIDED TO HEAD HOME AND GET AS MUCH SLEEP AS I CAN BEFORE PRACTICE AND THE GAME TONIGHT. I STRIPPED THE SHEETS AND THREW THEM AND I CLOTHES I WORE INTO THE WASHING MACHINE. I HAD AN AMAZING TIME. I'LL TEXT YOU TONIGHT. I HOPE YOU'LL WATCH THE GAME.....B"
