Jane awoke with a start, the events of the morning still fuzzy. She checked her watch. It was 1000, she was shocked she'd slept that long. Walking into the kitchen, it felt empty somehow, then she saw the note. She read it intently. For whatever reason she felt sadness but she didn't know why. She figured the stuff in the washing machine was probably done, so she'd switched it into the dryer. She then checked her phone

She'd had several texts. One from Abbie, the other from Brandon asking her to referee tonight. He apologized for the short notice but since her plans had been changed he figured he'd ask. She texted him back saying she would be there. Jane needed to run. She had to exhausted body be damned.

Before heading out she sent a text to Abbie telling her she was going to referee and apologized but didn't think she could get any tickets. She also told her she was still waiting in her new itinerary and she'd text her as soon as she'd received it With that she headed out for her run

She arrived home a little while later. Sore but happy she was able to run. She checked her emails and phone. She was thrilled when she saw that Brady had texted her.

"HEY. I HEARD YOU'RE GOING TO WORK THE GAME TONIGHT. IM EXHAUSTED BUT I MANAGED TO TRICK COACH ENOUGH THAT IT APPEARS I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. SORRY ABOUT SNEAKING OUT THIS MORNING. I WAS INSTANTLY STRUCK WITH LONELINESS. YOU'VE LEFT ONE HELL OF AN IMPRESSION ON ME. SEE YOU TONIGHT....B"

Jane giggled like a school girl at the text. She'd left an impression on him, that didn't happen often. She wasn't looking forward to refereeing tonight, but she'd get to see Brady and that was good enough for her. She'd studied up on the Buffalo Erie's. They were a younger team but they played dirty. Their captain, Jack Tomieau was a real dirt bag. He'd had a bad history with the PHL and would take penalties whenever he felt they were necessary. High sticks were his specialty. This was going to be a long night she could feel it.

She'd just finished up some odds and ends when Brandon texted her with the new itinerary. She was flying out tomorrow afternoon and she'd be gone 9 days. Fortunately the flight didn't leave at the crack of dawn like the one that was supposed to this morning. Jane felt marginal relief with that. Also, she'd be flying to Alberta instead of BC which was a slightly shorter flight. She wasn't a huge fan of taking to the skies but she knew she had to do it.

She'd texted her dad and Abbie her new itinerary. They responded they'd received it and understood. They also wished her luck tonight and assured her they'd be watching. She responded with 'xoxo' and she'd see them in a about a week and a half. They knew Jane wasn't looking forward to this trip, especially this soon into the season, but they knew she'd be ok

Her phone rang a little bit later. She was shocked, it was Molly, It was close to 300am in Singapore.

"Molly-Moo. What's up? It's close to 300am there."

"I couldn't sleep. I wanted to see how you're doing. Miss you Janey Jo."

Jane suspected something was wrong, she'd wait for Molly to tell her.

"Are you refereeing tonight? Are you excited?"

"Yes. I was supposed to fly out this morning for a west coast trip. Leaving tomorrow instead. Positive thing is that I'll get done early in the season and I won't have to do another one."

They chatted a little longer until Jane needed leave to get to the game. Molly was thrilled for her and Brady even though she'd assured her 100 times they were only friends

"I love you Molly Moo. Talk soon ok."

"Love you too Janey Jo. Miss you"

It was a good, yet odd conversation. Molly sounded depressed, very unlike her. She was the type that even in the darkest times could see the light. She didn't seem that way tonight. Jane rushed to get ready and headed out the door
