You and your husband Ashton are at your home, and your 15 year old daughter is upstairs in her room.

You hear a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" You say as you jump up from the couch you and ashton were sitting on together, and walk to the door.

"Hello Mrs. Irwin," your daughter's friend, Christopher greets you.

"Hi Christopher, would you like to see Ellie?" You ask.

"I was actually coming to see if I could talk to you guys," he says shyly.

"Yea sure, come on in," you slowly say, letting him in.

Christopher walks into the living room, where you and ashton just were, and plops down on the chair across from Ashton.

"Hello, Mr. Irwin." He says, trying to act confident, but also not show how nervous he really was.

He stood and hold out his hand for ashton to shake it.

"Hello, Chris," ashton hesitates to say, shaking his hand.

Christopher and Ellie have been good friends for a long time. Christopher knows you and Ashton already. You have met before, but Christopher doesn't come over unless it's for school.

There was a long silence. Finally, Christopher broke it.

"I came to ask a question," his nervousness started to show. He brushed his fingers through his hair.

"Can I ask Ellie out? On a date?" He said.

"Chris," Ashton began.

"Ashton, can I see you in the kitchen real quick?" You said standing up and walking to him, grabbing his hand.

"Excuse us," you smile as you and Ashton walk into the kitchen.

Ashton closes the door behind you and starts talking.

"I don't want him dating Ellie." He said in a serious voice. You have never heard this from him.

"Ashton," you start, but he cuts you off.

"I don't want him dating Ellie." He repeated himself.

"Oh come on," you grab his hands. "At least he didn't go behind our backs and ask her out. He was being a real gentleman."

"He was just acting. He's not really like that." He turns towards the door.

"I think he really does like Ellie though. He was so nervous I'm surprised he didn't shït on himself." You say.

"He's what you call a bad boy." he says putting air quotes around "bad boys." "Girls will be all over him just because of that. Girls like bad boys. He's going to act like he loves her then go and break her heart and if he breaks my little girl's heart I will break his neck."

"Ashton," you try to calm him down.

"It's a no." He declares.

"You are exactly my father." You shake your head.

"I am not" he jumps up.

"Yes you are. When we first started dating he hated you. I would hear him yelling about you to my mother from my room. He would say the exact same thing you just said. "If he breaks my little girl's heart I'll break his neck." It's just a dad thing, and I get it, but she can't stay out little girl forever Ashton. She's fifteen and has never had a boyfriend. Christopher is a good guy. Please?" You try to convince him.

"Your dad didn't like me either?" He whispered. You couldn't tell if it was to himself or to you. "Yea" you whispered back anyways, giving him a hug.

He put his arms around you and rests his chin on top of your head, and you both stayed like that for at least a minute.

Finally Ashton spoke. "Ok." He mumbled.

He gave you a kiss on the top of your head and let go of you.

"I love you." You squeeze one him one last time before walking back I to the living room. Christopher was sitting on the same chair, on his phone. When he saw you and Ashton walk back in, he stood up.

"Yes." Ashton said. "Yes."

"Thank you so much. I will never hurt her. She's too amazing." Christopher started to ramble on.

"Do you want us to call her down?" You ask.

"No, I have a plan. I'm going to make it really sweet for her." He smiled, and starts to walk towards the door.

"Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Irwin." Christopher said one last time before walking out the door.
