Chapter 12 Make me wanna die

Lucas's POV

Pushing Emmett away these last few hours has been harder than I ever thought. I pull off the road, and into the ditch. Hopping from my car and heading straight into the forest to meet Alex. This has to work, or I'll never be able to come back to Emmett. There has to be this one way to get back to him, or I have to admit to myself that true love doesn't always conquer everything. If I can't find away to bring myself back, then i have to realize that sometimes evil can conquer true love.

I refuse to let that happen. Alex said she can possibly guide me back to the living world, after I'm gone but we're going to try before just in case. We decided to meet here in the cover of the Washington trees. I fumble my way through the bushes, and finally come up upon the spot, where I was told to wait. She decided to follow me to Washington, so luckily she wasn't to far away, when I called her. I see her brown hair, and a smile erupts onto my face. I feel like my two worlds have become one.

"Okay, let's get this over with" she says, and begins to instantly chant. I roll my eyes because it's funny that she didn't even give me the time to sit down. After a few minutes, a dead squirrel on the ground jumps to life, and skitters off into the thicker trees. That's a good sign. If she can bring a squirrel back to life, it shouldn't be too much harder to bring me back right? She opens her eyes after a few more moments of chanting, and a smile crosses her face. She did it.

"We still have a lot to talk about, before you do this. You're going to need to contact Rosalie on the other side. you won't be in danger because spirits are incapable of malice in their simplest form. You'll need to find her, and ask her to help you contact Klaus. It's like a trick request because she won't be able to talk bad about you due to her purity, so he'll be forced to listen to her out of grief, and then you'll run torwards the rose colored light at the edge of the world.

Make sure nobody knows about it unless you trust them more than anything. You don't want just anyone following you through the portal and becoming alive once again. Remember most of them have been killed for a reason. Do not trust a vampire that you've never met. You will be double crossed. I'll only be able to hold the portal open for about five minutes, so you'll need to hurry once you see it. The spirits will also only let me open it twice a decade, so don't miss your chance, or I'll be powerless of letting you out for ten years.

"Okay, no trusting, and get to the light super fast? I think I got it all" I say, before bursting into laughter. She looks at me like I'm crazy, so I attempt to explain my sudden burst of hilarity. "Crying got me nowhere in the bad parts of life, so maybe laughing will make things a little better" I say and she just laughs along with me. We sit there on the tree stump laughing together, until my stomach hurts. I gently ease into a serious state.

"You wanna do some training, while we're here?" I ask her eagerly, missing our daily routine of fighting. She smiles enthusiastically, before jumping to her feet. I ready myself in the stance, she taught me and prepare for her attack. It throws me off, when she doesn't lunge for my throat, so I do the lunging. She dodges me easily, and digs her hands into my side, throwing me to the ground. I easily hurtle myself back onto my feet, and then I begin to circle around her.

She takes a step forward, and I dive for her feet. She was clearly not expecting this because I manage to sweep her off her feet, and crawl on top of her. She laughs at me, before throwing me off of her, where I land on the dirt ten feet away. jumping back to a crouching form, I lunge out of the way, just as she gains the momentum to knock me onto my back. I laugh, before putting my knew plan into action. I run at her, but at the last minute I dive sideways, and she hurtles to the ground defensively.

I take the oppertunity to dive on top of her, and pin both of her arms to the ground. I look down into her blue eyes, and smile.

"Beat you master!" I hiss, and she smiles, before looking at me expectantly. When I don't move, she rolls her eyes sarcastically.
