A Third Of Love

Intro

So... I recently took a vacation to Norfair and I checked the temperatures... only to see that they were below -20... welp, I suppose I've gotta make good on my promise now...

So, let's try another experimental fic then, shall we — it's just like Cycles! However, I should say, this fic hopefully won't be a very serious one — as in, it's going to be very lighthearted (so, not like Cycles).

Of course, I take writing it very seriously. That being said, I'm trying a different... style of writing for this one, shall we say? I've written this first chapter with a different... approach then I've done for... pretty much every other fic I've written, particularly Behind The Mask and Cycles.

But enough beating around the bush. What is this fic? Well, I think I'll summarise it in 4 words: high school Nesscas AU.

Yeah... that's a shocker, isn't it? Me... writing a Nesscas fic.

And for how easy and tempting it would be, I'm not gonna half ass this or anything — no, I'm actually making an honest to God attempt at writing a Nesscas fic, and with any luck, it might end up being a sort of long one as well.

I'm aware that this isn't exactly the most original idea — no, there are plenty of high school Nesscas AU fics out there, and I've like to pride myself on writing stories with unique ideas — after all, how many other stories have you read that explore Mother 3 from the Masked Man's point of view and try to give him a personality?

And indeed, I wouldn't bother writing this story unless I felt I had something unique to contribute, and I think I do. In fact, I'll say this — if you're a Naula fan, as I am, I think there's something for you to enjoy as well.

Before we begin, I must give some warnings — as the description stated, there will be lots and lots of swearing, some sexual themes and innuendos (but not any smut), and some violence. Also, despite this being an AU, spoilers for all 3 Mother Series games apply, so keep that in mind.

In addition, the chapters will be long. I'd say Behind The Mask length but some of them will be even longer than that... you're very welcome to take a break.

This story takes place in Earthbound's universe — the Mother 1 and 3 characters just exist there. Most of the Mother Series Protagonists are 16 in this story, except for Poo and Kumatora, who are 18 and Duster, who is 29. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!
