Chapter One:
Snake Eyes

"You shouldn't have come here."

"Your family. Family sticks together." The only human in the room looked down at her knees. Karai wanted nothing but to be free of her shackles. However now she was sharing a cage with her supposed turtle ally, Michelangelo.

Now she didn't know much about the said turtle other than he was the youngest. He was naive enough to think he could get her free from the Shredder, meaning he didn't have much brains going for him.

"Leonardo just wanted to help you." Michelangelo's gaze falls from the kunoichi, eyes drifting to the metal bars that they faced, ignoring the shackles over his feet and hands. "You don't have to do this alone."

"Yes I do. Fath-Shredder needed to pay. It would've worked if you hadn't shown up!" Venom dripped from her voice. It stung. Yeah, his whole plan had blown up in his face. Though to be fair, he didn't really have much time to think through it considering Leo was down and Karai was on the move.

"Our brothers will come. They'll free us-"

"Your." Karai hissed. Sitting alone in the dungeon had her boiling with her own thoughts. Sure she had begun to trust the turtles, but brothers were stretching it. She just found out her father wasn't actually his father and had a hand in killing his mother. The man who raised her, had her mother's blood on his hands. Every hug, every scarce 'I Love you', every touch was now stained with bloodshed. Yet a part of her couldn't let go of the man who raised her. He had been her father. He raised her. He was her father. Despite everything, she couldn't let go. Yet the other part of her was angry. Her whole existence was a lie. Miwa, Karai-all of it just some sick twisted lie. Caught in the middle of a family war that she didn't know she had a part in. It was all to conflicting.

She just wished she could go back to when life wasn't so hard. Simpler times.

Why did emotions have to be so complicated?

"Well, since it might be a while, we can play I spy!" Michelangelo cheers, trying to lighten the gloom cloud that lurked over them. When he didn't get a response, he decided to go through with it. "Well, I spy with my little turtle eye, something...red!"

Defeated, Karai gives their cell a small look over. At first she didn't see anything but dark grey walls and nasty cracks in the cement. However outside of their cell, a Foot Clan labeled drape was the only colored thing.

"The drape."

"Aw man, I knew I should've picked something else..."

Michelangelo wasn't asleep.

He spent an hour trying to fall asleep but unable to. Blame it on his stupid mind. Always running but never stopping. Made nighttime the roughest time for him. He flipped in bed, trying another posture to sleep in when he heard the faint sound of voices. Unfortunately, the youngest turtle got the room closest to living room and exit, making it impossible to not hear whatever scurries through their lair at night. However this wasn't just some rat running through their stuff out there, they were voices.

One seemed content, almost angry while the other was more soft and worried. So that ruled out Raphael. He could make out his brother, Leonardo and a female voice. Karai.

"Let me help."

There's a long pause, maybe the two had enough talking. However that thought left his mind completely when he heard a loud thud.
