Ch 6

* 5 days after the bar celebration*

"I know, I know, I- Ino you don't have to remind me I'll buy the champagne for the mimosas this weekend. Now hang up aren't you supposed to be at work?" Sakura huffed at her phone which sat on her lap. "Well you know how forgetful you are! Jeez you must get it from your mom." Ino whispered yelled at her phone. "Hey! Not funny!" Sakura gave a sorrowful pout knowing that her friend could hear her. "Hahah sorry sorry! Speaking of which are you on your way to visit your mom?" Ino whispered.
"Yah I just pulled into the parking lot so I'll talk to you later. Also I know your hiding in the broom closet so stop it and get back to work. You know if Amy catches you she's gonna give you sooooooo much shit." Sakura snickered at the thought. "Oh fuck Amy! That little twig thinks she's hot shit ever since she got promoted. Ugh it's annoying.!" Sakura could hear the frustration in her friend's voice and she couldn't say she blamed her. Ever since Amy had gotten promoted she had made it hell for her and her blonde friend.
"I know it sucks but we have to deal with it for now. I'll talk to you later. Love you bye." Sakura said as she turned off her car and opened the door. " Kay! love you too! Say hi to your mom for me." Ino said as she blew a kiss into her phone. "Haha I will." Sakura laughed as she ended the call. Before she locked her car she couldn't help but get the scent of burnt rubber. Sakura frowned before looking at her car suspiciously. (I hope that's not me.... naaaah it's probably another car.) she reassured herself before leaving the car.
Sakura quickly checked in and got inspected before being escorted to her mom. "Miss Mebuki is right over here" the nurse said as she walked her to the common area. She didn't need the nurses help to spot the light haired lady. A small smile formed on Sakura's mouth as she saw her mom. As Sakura walked over to her she mentally prepared herself . "Hey mom." Sakura said happily. The faded haired lady turned her head to meet Sakura's eyes. "Hello, how are you?" She said in a polite tone. Sakura watched as her mom continued knit a small scarf. Sakura took a seat next to her mother on the couch.
"What are you knitting?" She asked softly. The women turned to her in surprise. "Oh hello... I'm knitting a scarf." She said before turning her attention back to what she was doing. "That's nice for who?" Sakura asked as she gently touched the scarf. "Oh um, it was for .... I can't remember her name... she's a very nice nurse." She watched as her mother closed her eyes in concentration trying to remember the name. "Haha it's ok mom. It's fine if you don't remember. Oh Ino says hi by the way." Sakura said before smiling at her.
              "Ino..? Who is that ? I'm sorry dear my memory is not good." She said with a frown. "I know mom and it's ok. Ino is my best friend, she is the daughter of Mr Inoichi the flower shop guy." Sakura explained excitedly. "Oh really.. I think I remember her. How has she been?" She asked. Sakura let out a worried laugh as she thought about her blonde best friend. "Wellllll... I would say good but Amy from work isn't really making it easier for us. But other than that her and Sai are good. She says she thinks he's the one she wants to marry. Which I think is great Sai is a nice guy."
                Sakura watched her mother smile and Nod her head, she knew her mother didn't really know what Sakura was talking about but she tried to listen. "Oh that's great, I'm glad she's found herself a man. How about you dear? Any special men in your life?" Her mother said as she wiggled her eyebrows. "Ptfff haaaaa nooooooo!" Sakura involuntarily choked at the question. It was just like her mother to ask those kinds of questions, even in her condition. Mebuki frowned at the answer. "Sakura you have to start living your life dear, you can't just keep looking after me your whole life. That's one of the reasons I asked you to put me in a nursing home. I'm sure your father will agree with me."
             Sakura frowned at that. "You think father would agree?" She asked. Mebuki nodded her head. "Well..." Sakura started as she thought about her run in with a certain blacked haired man. She quickly shook her head, (I can't talk to mom about a guy who I just texted with for one day!) she said to herself. "I just don't have time for that.. but I'm sure I will." Sakura smiled. " fine dear but when you do make sure he's an outstanding young man like your father." Sakura watched her mother giggle at the thought of her dad.
                "Speaking of which have you seen your father around. I think he said he was going to the restroom but hasn't came back." She asked as she lifted her head to look around.  Sakura flinched at her mothers question. There was a sinking feeling in her stomach and her heart felt like it had just been dropped kicked. She could feel a coil wrap around her throat making it hard to speak. "D-dad.." she started but stopped when her voice cracked. She quickly coughed and cleared her throat.
              She couldn't bring herself to tell her mom that her dad had passed away a long time ago. "I-I'm sure dad just got lost on his way back. But he will find you... I know he will." Sakura said as she patted her mothers hand. "Oh I know that man loves me too much to leave me. Haha I'm sure he'll come back soon." Her mother smiled and continued to knit. Sakura couldn't help but feel the tears prick at her eyes at the thought of her mother waiting for her dad.
                 "Are you ok dear?" Her mother asked her worriedly noticing her watery eyes. Sakura nodded before quickly blinking away her tears. "Yes mom, sorry I was just thinking about you and dad's relationship and how I want that... it's just I can't have that right now because I'm busy with work and school." She said half heartily. Well it's not like she was lying she really did want a relationship as strong as her mothers and fathers. "Oh I'm sure you will find it. You just have to listen to your gut when it tells you you've found the one. That's what I did after all." Her mother chuckled before continuing to knit.
                  "My gut...?" Sakura repeated softly. She continued to chat with her mother for another hour or so before she had to leave. "I'll see you later mom." She said before giving her a hug. "Bye dear take care of yourself. Make sure to eat good. And if you see your father on your way out tell him I'm waiting for him here." She said with a warm smile. Sakura felt another pain in her chest and she knew tears would follow soon. "I will mom.. I love you." She said before walking out the door.
              Sakura continued to fight her tears as they bordered on her lids. "Miss Haruno! Miss Haruno! Wait !" Sakura stopped in her tracks as he heard her name being called out. She turned around to find a nurse running down the aisle for her. " Miss Haruno, oh good I'm glad I was able to catch up with you." The nurse said as she caught her breath. "Oh sorry about making you run." She apologized. "No, it's ok." The nurse huffed. "Um, what did you want to talk about?" Sakura asked as she watched the nurse stand up straight.
                "Oh well actually the director had somethings he wanted to speak with you about.... it's mostly about money..." she said as she scratched her head. Sakura frowned at her words. "He said that your last payment was late again.... and we still haven't gotten this months payment." The nurse continued reluctantly. "I know.. I'm sorry I get paid tomorrow. I promise I'll pay you tomorrow. I'm sorry" she said as she bowed down. "Oh no, you don't have to bow to me! I know you're a good person just like your mother.... it's really my boss who's making me do this." She said shyly.
               "I know I understand. Thank you for speaking with me." Sakura bowed once more before retreating to her car. She sat in her little white car as she thought about her late payments. (Ugh I get paid tomorrow.... but I'm sure it's not going to be enough. Let's see I have to pay for mother, then my apartment, water and electricity bill.. my car insurance... ughhhhh!) sakura let out a frustrated sigh as she turned the key to her car. The engine reved but quickly died out. "Come on baby.." she whispered as she turned the key again.
After several tries it finally started up. "Yusss! One small step for the car one giant victory for me!" Sakura smiled excitedly. Her celebration however was premature as she didn't make it far before her car gave her trouble again. Sakura gasped as her car began to smoke. "No, no no no !" She panicked before quickly pulling over into a parking lot. "Shit! Please be ok!" She said as she ran out and opened her hood. A cloud of white smoke rose up from her engine hitting her in the face.
Sakura frowned inwardly. The smell of burnt rubber once again meeting her nose. She couldn't help but crinkle her nose at the smell. "Shit..." she said in defeat. There was nothing she could do but stand there as her car smoked. "Crap this cant be happening... I didn't need this! Now out of all the time you decide to quit on me ! Dam it I trusted you!" Sakura knew she looked like a crazy person yelling at her car in the parking lot but she couldn't help but feel let down.
(There's no way your going to be able to pay your bills now.) the Scary thought laid heavily on the back of her mind as she sat on the floor. "Fuck perfect....." she whispered as she felt frustrated tears fall down her cheeks. The stress knots on her neck tightened even more causing her to wince in pain. "Well this doesn't look good." She heard a voice behind her. Sakura flinched before looking up at the source. Her eyes widen as she saw who it was. "K- kakashi...?" She asked in a confused tone.
"That's me. Soooo, what happened?" He asked as he walked closer to her and handed her a water bottle. Sakura took it from him before standing up and dusting her butt. "My car broke down..." Sakura said in defeat. "And that's why your sitting on the parking lot floor crying?" He asked as he raised his brow. Sakura opened her mouth to say something but decided against it and closed her mouth again. Kakashi eyed her carefully. He of course he knew that wasn't the real reason she found herself in such condition.
"Come on let me get my truck we can tow your car to my mechanic." He said as he dug out his keys from his pocket. " oh um, that's ok ... I can't really afford a mechanic right now so if you can tow it to my apartment that would be great." Sakura said rubbing her arm in embarrassment. "So I was right, it was a money problem." He said as he smiled behind his mask. "W-whaa! I mean it's not that bad! I really was crying cause of my car." She said scrambling to find her words. "Hahah don't worry I'm just really good at reading people. And don't worry about the mechanic I'm sure you're going to like them they're very nice. Also they owe me so I can just call in my favor."
He said as he crossed his arms. "What you don't have to do that." Sakura waved her hands in front of her. "I'm doing this because I want to. Now wait here I'm going to get my truck." He said before jogging off. (Wow Kakashi is really nice... though I hope he doesn't think I'm taking advantage of him.) sakura thought as a drop of sweat ran down her brow. It didn't take long before she saw a nice silver truck pull up. (Wow it looks new.. I guess he gets a lot of good tips.) sakura thought as she watched him pull up next to her.
              " I didn't know you had a truck Kakashi. It's very nice I like it." She said as she watched him get off and hook up her car. " thanks I just got it a couple months ago. Its a 2018 Silverado. Naruto actually helped me pick it out haha." He laughed as he finished up. "Naruto?" Sakura asked in surprise. As she got in his truck. "I didn't know Naruto knew about cars." Sakura said as she watched kakashi drive. "Hahahahaha it doesn't look like it but Naruto is actually pretty smart when it comes down to it." Kakashi laughed.
              Sakura and kakashi talked for a bit before he pulled in to a mechanic shop. Sakura looked amazed by the cars that were in the parking lot. They seemed so much nicer than her little run down car. She quickly exited the truck when Kakashi did and stood next to him the whole time as she looked around. "Hahaha no need to look so scared." Kakashi laughed behind his mask. "Oh sorry, it's just I'm scared about the price...." Sakura said as she scratched her cheek nervously. "I already said to stop worrying about that. This person owes me a favor so I doubt it will be as expensive as you think." Kakashi hummed as he began to walk into the shop.
                The sounds of machines and talking could be heard as she followed closely behind him. "Hey Gu-.." "KAKASHI! My rival!" Kakashi was cut off by a loud husky voice. Immediately after Kakashi was hugged by a bowl cut dude. He seem to squeeze Kakashi tight as Kakashi patted his back gently. "Hey there Guy. How have you been." Kakashi said through hard breaths. He finally released Kakashi but kept his arm around Kakashi neck. "I'm doing great! What brings my best friend around?" He asked excitedly. "Well actually my friends car broke down so I thought I'd bring it here." He said as he gestured over to sakura.
              "Oh hi there. Names Might Guy! It's nice to meet you." He said as he held out a hand. Sakura shook it feeling his callous fingers on hers. "It's nice to meet you too. My name is Sakura." She said gently. "Any friend of Kakashi's is a friend of mine." Guy said happily. Suddenly their conversation was broken but another loud voice but this one was familiar. " hey bushier brow sensei ! Can you help me with my engine!?" Everyone turned their attention to Naruto as he walked into the room. There eyes met causing naruto to scream her name excitedly. " SAKURA! What are you doing here?" He said happily as he ran over to them.
                 " hey Naruto I didn't know you worked here." Sakura said with a smile. " oh yeah this is my other job." He laughed. Naruto was wearing a orange jumpsuit with black gloves and black boots. He had  taken off the top part of his jump suit and wrapped the sleeves around his waist.  A white muscle shirt covered his upper body display his chest and arms Nicely. There was some grease stains on his arms and forehead a testimony to his hard work. "What bring you here sakura?" He asked with a smile. "Well you see my car broke down. That's when Kakashi found me and offered to bring me here." She explained
                 "Her car hood was open it looked like her engine was smoking. Anyways I'm calling in my favor Naruto. Can you help fix her car?" Kakashi said as he looked over to the car behind his truck. "Oh yah no problem bring it in. Is that ok bushier bow sensei?" Naruto asked Guy. Sakura snorted at the dumb nickname Naruto had given him causing Kakashi to look over at her with a knowing smile. After they moved her car in Naruto and Guy took a look at it. Naruto opened the hood which was still steaming slightly.
                  "Yikes..." he hummed as he saw the smoke. Sakura frowned she truly hoped it wasn't expensive to fix. Guy tried to start the car up but it was a no go. The engine only sounded like a dying animal and never turned on. Sakura huffed and rubbed her neck to ease her stress. " well it seems that your radiator broke causing coolant to spill. This lead to your car overheating. Did your check engine light turn on?" Naruto asked in a more serious tone. "Um not that I saw... the guy who sold it to me did say some things on the dash didn't show up... I guess he also meant the check engine sign." Sakura said worriedly.
                 "Dam I see, well that sucks. It probably means that your car's computer isn't working properly which is bad. So that explains why your car over heated so bad. The other thing that sucks is that because your car over heated to such extreme the engine basically melted fusing some parts shut. With that said, it looks like you're going to need a whole new engine." Naruto said glumly as he closed the hood. Sakura let out what sounded like a choking sound. (Shit! That sounds bad! It's going to be too expensive to fix. I can't pay to have a whole new engine put in.) she thought worriedly.
                 Noticing this kakashi gave her a reassuring pat on the head. "It's ok I'm sure we can figure something out." He said trying to reassure her. Sakura shot him a half hearted smile. "Well normally I would say it cost more to fix the car then it's worth but since Kakashi is calling in a favor and you're my friend I think I can make it work." Naruto said back to his cheerful self. "Well I'm not gonna charge you for labor so the only thing you have to worry about is the engine. I can provide you with the radiator and the car's computer." He said happily.
                   Sakura let out a relieved sigh "that sounds great but how much will the engine cost?" She asked as she brought her hand up in thought. " well I have to look for one but for these cars and this year shouldn't be so much maybe $1,500 or less. It really depends." Sakura couldn't help but bulge her eyes at the price ( fuck fuck fuck that's too expensive... but what choice do I have... I need that car....) she thought worriedly to herself.  Sakura sighed in defeat, " I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting this and I don't really have the money at the time..... so if you could just wait a little I swear I'll pay you back!" She said as she bowed towards him.
                This cause Naruto to flush red. "S-S-Sakura- Chan! You don't have to bow to me it's fine, it's fine!" He said in embarrassment. "Look I believe you. And if you can't pay right now we can definitely work that out too." He smiled. This was music to her ears and honestly some of the best news she had heard that day. A bright smile filled her face. "Really! You mean it! Oh thank you Naruto thank you!" She said excitedly as he gave him a hug without thinking. This caused him to giggle and blush. "N-no problem." She also gave Kakashi a hug in celebration.
             " I swear I'm going to pay you back." She said before looking over at Kakashi who watched them. "I'll make sure to pay you back too Kakashi." She said determinedly. "Ah it's ok, I told you I helped you because I wanted to." Kakashi's answered as he waved his hand in front of him. Sakura frowned at that. "But you really helped me a lot, I still feel like I want to repay you." She hummed. "Well, if it's like that you can just say you owe me." He said before giving a soft smile behind his mask.
            "Ok." She said in acceptance. (Wait how are you going to pay them? You barely make enough as it is. Paying off $1,500 would take you really long...) Sakura's inner mind began to speak its concerns. "Hmmmmm..." Sakura hummed in thought as she touched her chin. This cause Kakashi, Guy and Naruto to look at each other. ( I don't really have anything In my trust fund, and I still have to pay for bills and my mother, besides food expenses I usually have about $150 dollars left over.....Welll im not going to be paying for gas in the mean time so I guess that leaves me with around $200 to spare. That's not enough.....)
            She thought to herself. (Maybe I can get another job... but where....) suddenly a brilliant idea flashed into her head. "Kakashi!" She said as she broke out of her thoughts catching them by surprise. They all gave a jump at her suddenness. "Yes?" He asked, waiting to hear what she had come up with. "How is the bar doing these days? Are you guys still struggling?" She asked him. Kakashi raised a brow as he thought about their past few days. "Well you could say we're still struggling. Why?" He asked curiously.
                  "Let me work for you. I'll turn the bar more profitable by bring in my Ideas." She said seriously. "What? You're going to work as advertisement?" Kakashi asked confused. "Not just advertising, cleaning or serving too, anything to help." Naruto seem to light up at that idea. "Why work at the bar?" Kakashi asked. "Because if I make the bar more profitable I would get paid enough to pay Naruto back, plus you two will get more tips and money. It's a win win situation. Also I would be in close contact with Naruto so we can talk about any developments or issues with the car. She smiled.
                This made kakashi laugh. "Wow im impressed you really are a problem solver type of person. Hahahah not to be rude but what makes you think you can turn the bar more profitable?" Kakashi raised a brow. "Well I minored in business so I know the ins and outs of that field. Also I have friends that started their own business so I have real world cases to reflect from." Sakura sounded confident but she really felt nervous about the whole thing and wondered If she was getting in deeper than she expected. "Alright then, when can you start?" He asked
                "As soon as possible." She said with confidence. "Awesome Sakura- Chan is gonna be working with us!" Naruto yelled excitedly as he raised his hands for a double high-five. Kakashi watched them with a smile on his face before he realized what he had to do.
