As they finally pulled into the parking lot of the hospital Obito got out and opened the door for Sakura. "Thank you for the ride Mr. Uchiha. I appreciate it a lot." She said as politely as she could. "It's no problem. You're helping out my little nephew, the least I could do is give you a ride." He said with a smile. "Thank you again. I need to go clock in now." Sakura said with a bow. "I won't hold you any longer besides I need to go meet up with my pain in the ass." He said with a smile. Sakura could only assume he was talking about the same Madara guy he had mentioned ealier. She was also pretty sure he was the CEO of the hospital. With a last laugh Obito opened the door to the hospital.
Sakura's eyes widen in surpise as a file of employees bowed and welcomed the COO to the hospital with courtesy. Sakura quickly slipped away passing the file of employees buzzing around the uchiha. "Jeez that felt like a king entering his palace." She whispered as she shuffled to the employee entry door and slid her badge to the ID machine. The door let out a beep in acceptance, letting her know that it was unlocked. After taking one last look at the man that had so kindly offered her a ride, she walked in. Her mind did circles around what had just happened to her in the span of an hour.
She had only intended to go to present good news to Sasuke not get him angry at her. She wasn't going to lie, she had been hurt when he said she was just an employee. Maybe along the line Sakura had somehow tricked herself into believing that they had become friends. She wanted to believe that they had bonded over their mutual interest in motorcycles and drunk stories, because Sakura felt as if they had. (Quit lying to yourself Sakura. You knew from the beginning, this was always only ment to be a business transaction. Once you both got what you needed it was the end of your so called relationship.) The thought pulled at her heart strings making her frown. Sakura huffed and grimaced at the feeling of the stress knot on her neck. She was almost done with the first month of their promised deal.
She needed more time. Did he really expect her to pull customers out of her ass like that. She frowned as she walked to her station. "There you are! Did you finish the client files like I told you?" Amy huffed as she walked towards her. "Amy.. yeah I have them. There was a couple mistakes in some files but I fixed them." Sakura said as she turned her head to meet her eye. "Good. Now where are they. Hand them over." She said as she stuck out an expecting hand. Sakura reached into her duffle bag and pulled out the stack of papers. "Tch. One of the important assholes came late so now I have to stay late to present these client sheets for them- hey wait. There are some missing! Where are they?!" Amy hissed as she shuffled through them.
"What do you mean they should be in there." Sakura said as she grabbed the files from Amy's hand and looked through them. (Oh crap... she's right. Some client sheets are missing. Oh no! Oh no no no. I think I put those sheets in the other file for the mural. Shit I was in a hurry this morning I must of done it by accident!) she thought to herself worriedly. "U-um, I left them at home." She began to explain. "What!" Amy hissed and narrowed her eyes. "B-but I'll call someone to bring them to me! Don't worry." She said as she hurriedly pulled out her phone. "You better get me those sheets before I present or im going to make sure your ass is fired one way or the other. Got it?!" She said as she turned to walked away.
Sakura swallowed the lump in her throat. Her feet quickly carried her to the nearest bathroom stall where. Her fingers hurriedly dialed the first number she saw. She knew Amy wasn't kidding about firing her. She knew she could do it. Amy did have the "connections" after all. And Sakura could not afford to lose this job. She could feel the quickening heart beat in her ears. "Please answer... please . Please.." she whispered. To herself as she huddled in the bathroom stall.-
Sasuke ran a his hand through his hair as he leaned his head back on his chair. He felt shitty. As he should. He had snapped at her again. Something he always seemed to regret. But he couldn't contain the the anger and repulse he felt as she glorified his family name. She didn't know everything he had endured in the 17 years he had lived with them. The very second he could, he ran away. Ran away from the abusive father who always compared him to the perfect son that was his brother. He ran away from judging stares of the other Uchiha in his family that told him he was a disappointment. He ran away from the manipulation and degrading manner of living for the company.
He had been groomed to fit into what his father thought was the "ideal" son to take over the business. but Sasuke wanted none of it. So when he saw the way her face lit up when she found out he was an Uchiha, he saw the face of all the investors and manipulators that he hated as a kid and snapped. It was only after he snapped that he saw the way her face contorted in pain when he said she was nothing else but an employee to him. He sounded so much like his father that he felt like puking from disgust. (no no no! I'm not my dad! Im not like that old piece of shit! Im not... I'm not..) he repeated to himself as he closed his eyes shut. But her eyes were a mirror of his own, when his dad would tell him that his only purpose in life was to run the company.
God did he regret it. He wished that he could take it all back. She was his friend. At least that was he felt. She had really proven to be a good person. So why did he have to be such an asshole to her. He thought to himself, But came up with no answer. He let out a low huff and rubbed his temple to ease the torment in his head. It wasn't till the ring of his cellphone interrupted his thoughts that his focus came back to reality. His phone vibrated in his pocket. He let out a sigh. Whoever it was, he was in no mood to talk. So he let it buzz away in his pocket. (You can't just keep running away. It's not healthy. Sometimes you have to face your problems and come to terms with them. You can't keep running away all your life. The world doesn't work that way.) the words that his uncle had told him came to his mind.
Obito was an Uchiha but he never acted like one. It was one of the reasons Sasuke had trusted him. He was the first person Sasuke told his plans to. Well besides Naruto that is. Obito knew the hardships of being a black sheep and being manipulated by others that's why he always offered Sasuke help. And even though he didn't seem greetful he truly was. When his dad had cut him off from the Uchiha fortune until he returned home, Obito had secretly helped him out. Providing his name as the co-signer when he got an apartment, giving him a loan to start his bar and coaching him through life. He was doing everything his real dad should be doing.
Sasuke huffed again. So when his pretend dad/uncle's words popped into his head, Sasuke could not ignore them. His hand dug into his pocket and took out his buzzing phone. Sasuke's eyes scanned the screen and widened when he saw the caller ID. "Hello." Sasuke answered and waited for them to speak.
"Sasuke..." her voice sounded like honey in his ears. God was he such an asshole to have snapped at her but rejoice by hearing her voice. The joy however, quickly faded when he listened to the distress in her voice.
"Sakura, what's wrong?" He asked.
"Sasuke please listen, the file I gave you has some paperwork from my work. I - I need it. Please I- can't lose this job. Please I just- I-." Her voice quivered as she spoke and Sasuke could tell that she was really worried.
