The cold rain sprinkled on Sakura's face as she ran down the street. She clutched her bag to her stomach as she leaned over it protecting it from the rain. As she reached the bar she ducked under the door to get away from the rain outside. Her worn out face was met by the smell of alcohol and the warmth that the bar carried.  She was working a night shift today and wanted to stop by the bar to bring some good news. "Ugh good day to forget your umbrella Sakura." She huffed to herself. She took off her wet faux leather coat and hung it on the coat hanger before walking down the stairs. "Yikes did you get caught up in the rain?" Kakashi asked as he watched her make her way to the counter. She huffed taking a seat next to a random guy that was sitting directly across from kakashi.
"Yah, I forgot my umbrella. Like a Genius." She said before laying her head on the counter. "How'd that happen it's been pouring all morning. Kakashi asked as he served her a warm coffee. She lifted her head giving him a quick thanks. For the past couple of days Amy had been on her case about the patient files she had assigned her. It was driving her up the wall. "..I've been a bit sleep deprived." She said admittedly. "I had to finish a bunch of paper work for the hospital. So I fell asleep on my couch and missed my alarm. I had to get ready in the blink of an eye and run out the door. Before I knew it I was running in the rain." She explained while taking a sip of the good good bean juice before her.
"Is Sasuke here? I have some good news." She said as she put her drink down and dug through her duffle bag to take out a folder. "He's in the back with Naruto. Let me just text him that you're here." The silver man said as he pulled out his phone. She hummed tiredly as she waited for him to do what he had said. Her hands came up to rub the tiredness away from her eyes as she blinked carefully. "I like the decorations you guys put up. But I gotta say I was a bit surprised. I didn't think the little twerp would ever go for something like this." The man next to her finally spoke. Sakura tried to hide a smile. She was glad someone had finally noticed the decorations she worked so hard on.
Her gaze turn to the man next to her. He was tall man with a broad built. His hair was black with spiky whips decorating his head. They reminded her of her favorite grumpy bartender. The more she stared at the man the more she saw a resemblance. He had a strong sharp jaw and his eyes were as dark as coal with a glossy finish to them making them shine like a black diamond. He had deep scars on his left side but the way he shined made him undeniably attractive in her eyes. Sakura quickly caught herself before shaking her head. No maybe it had been all the sleepless night and tiresome days that had made her begin to lose her edge. She wasn't someone who just fawned for dark haired moody men! She also liked to crochet. She nodded to herself as if to try to prove a point.
"Sakura- chaaaaaaaaaan!" They all heard as Naruto ran from the back followed by Sasuke. Sakura gave him a brisk smile as he sat next to her spinning around on the stool. "Hey Naruto." She said as she tucked a wet strand of hair behind her ear. Naruto's eyes traveled to her wet hair. "Sakura you're wet! did you get stuck in the rain?" He asked while getting up to grab a towel. "Yeah, but it's not so bad." She said thanking him for the towel. "Why did you come by today? you're not scheduled to come in." Sasuke's said as he took his place behind the bar. Sakura covered her mouth as she gave a tired yawn before proceeding to pull out some paper work.
"I know, I just wanted to let you know that the city has granted us the permit necessary to start the mural. You just have to sign in the places I have highlighted for you. She explained as she point at the highlighted lines. "Oh that was faster than I expected." Kakashi chimed in as he looked through the pages. Sakura began to explain how she had managed to collect the paper work so quickly but it all went to the back of Sasuke's head as he noticed her figure. She looked tired. Her normally cheerful eyes were now a dull green. He didn't fail to notice how the bags under her eyes had began to show.
Maybe he had put too much pressure on her when he decided to give her only three short months to show profits. His eyes filled with pity a rarity for him indeed. He cleared his throat cutting her off from her explanation. "Thank you. You can take tomorrow off." He said as he turned around to grab a bottle from the shelf. His words caught her by surprise. Even Kakashi lifted a brow. Tomorrow was Friday. One of his busiest days. why would the man let her have that day off?
"Oh! Can I also have Friday off too! I want to go to this car meet in Sunagakure! The legend himself, Sabaku no Gaara is going to show up with his desert beast of a car!" Naruto said as he leaned over the counter.
"No and no... oh and also no." Sasuke said as he changed the cap for the bottle to a point nozzle. Naruto let out a loud sigh with visible disappointment. This made sakura laugh. "Maybe next time buddy. She said as she patted him on the back. Suddenly Sakura's phone began to ring. She took out her phone only to see Amy's name pop out on the caller ID. Sakura narrowed her eyes at it before standing up. "S-sorry I gotta take this." She said as she quickly walked to the corner to answer it.
Sasuke's eyes wandered to her form as she talked. He wasn't blind to the signs of distress. He knew what it felt like to have a crushing weight on his shoulders. If anything Sakura's tired eyes reminded him of the way his brothers eyes were when he would come home from work. A small tinge of guilt settled in the pit of his stomach as he remembered his brother. "You got yourself a secretary? Ha! Who would of thought. Though that does explain all this." The man sitting across the counter said as he gestured to his surroundings. "What's that supposed to mean?" The uchiha growled as he look at the man before him.
"To be fair. Kakashi hired her. I agreed with him right away! She's cool and smart and funny! She really livens things up around here you know?!" Naruto explained happily. "She seems like a real nice person." The man agreed. "Ok! I got it now stop pestering me or I'll block you so hard that I'll forget you ever even existed! Got it?!" Sakura's voice interrupted their conversation. A sweat drop fell down all of their heads at the contradictions that had just occurred. They all watched as Sakura quickly quit the call and made her way back to the counter. She sighed heavily as she plopped down on the stool again.
The man's gaze fell on her duffle bag. He eyed the badge that hung on the shoulder strap. "So your a nurse huh?" The man asked calling Sakura's attention to him. Her eyes went from frustration to surpise. "How'd you know?" She asked in confusion. The man smiled and point at the her bag. Sakura's eyes stayed on him for a second before they wandered down to her badge. She made and O with her lips as she realized where he had gotten that information from. "Oh yeah... I am." She answered as she tried to rub the stress knot around her neck.
"Do you enjoy working there?" He asked as he took another swig of the drink that Kakashi had given him. Sakura croaked out a  laugh as she thought about all the shit she was dealing with at the hospital. "If I'm being honest, no... cant say that I do..  anymore... The work has become draining, we're short staffed, there's no support from management or HR. And the only way to grow in the company is through connections and not through actual hard work. If it was through hard work I think I would be the CEO of the company right now... hahah" Sakura let out a  bitter laugh as she looked down at the hateful messages coming from her so called boss.
However, What Sakura had failed to see was the nonstop head shakes and warnings to cut the topic from the sliver haired man and Sasuke as she explained to the man next to her. The man gave a couple of hardy chuckles before finishing his drink. "Ah, I'm sorry your job has been so hard. Who would of known all that was going on inside my hospital." The man said as he shook his head. Sakura felt the blood drain from her face. "... im sorry... hahah I thought- I thought I heard you say 'my hospital'" She said as she began to sweat bullets.
"Hahah I did. My name is Obito Uchiha. COO and co-founder of Konoha Memorial Hospital." The man explained as he reached a hand out in salute. A tiny squeak left her opened mouth as she widen her eyes. Her mind struggled to process what had just happened. (Sakura you idiot! You just told your boss that you hated working at your job! Not only that, but you said you should be the CEO!) she yelled inwardly. Sakura quickly took his hand shaking it excessively as she bowed apologetically.
"Im sorry! P-please don't fire me!" She said as she bowed at a 90 degree angle. There was a loud silence before anyone said anything. Obito finally let out another hardy laugh. "Aw don't get your panties all in a twist I ain't gonna fire ya!" He said as he ordered another drink from Kakashi. Sakura was puzzled by his response. He was nothing like how she imagined the higher ups would be. She imagined the faceless higher ups to be some kinds of mean godlike people that reigned harshly above their employees. Instead she came face to face with a man who was drinking at 3:00pm on a Thursday afternoon. His clothes were normal. Not extravagant and branded like most rich CEOs in other conglomerates.
"Y-you're not?!" Sakura asked in surpise as she watched the man down a drink like it was water. "Nope! Why would I fire my employee for being open about a problem that has been bugging them!? Tsk tsk to think that this has been happening while I've been away." He said while shaking his head. "What do you say? Should I make heads role today? Heh heh" Sakura felt like she had just poured water all over Amy. A bit satisfied but somewhat guilty. It wasn't her fault if she got fired for making Sakura pick up her slack while she and Danzo went on expensive"management meetings". Still Amy was a terrible person but she didn't deserve to lose her job.
(Relax. Maybe he was just kidding about the hole 'making heads roll.' Thing.) when he didn't say he was joking and just continued talking to kakashi, Sakura head went blank. (He wasn't kidding!) she yelled inwardly. "Your drink making skills sure have gotten a lot better huh runt?"  Obito said as he teased the black haired bartender. "Shut up old man. Don't you have a meeting to be at?!" Sasuke hissed back. "Hey I'm not old I'm 31! Also I do... but the old bastard has been up my ass about somethings so I'm doing this to get back at him. You wanna talk about old Madara is old!"  He said as he pointed a finger at the Uchiha.
"Oh you two know each other sir?" Sakura asked as she saw how well the man bickered with the grumpy bartender in front of him. Obito turned to her, eyes gleaming with adoration. "Sir? It's been so long since I've been shown respect!" He said as he lifted his arms to cover his eyes. "The idiot next to you is my uncle." Sasuke answered with an annoyed tone. It was like lighting had struck her body. (Uncle...) she whispered inwardly. So she hadn't been hallucinating! These two were actually related. "Wait...?" Sakura said as she struggled to piece the puzzle together. How could it have gone over her head. (Obito Uchiha..... Uchiha..) where had she heard that name before. Then suddenly, like the last puzzle piece falling into place, it all clicked together.
Sakura almost jolted from the realization. "Y-you're an Uchiha?!  As in, part of the family that owns most of the ports in Konohagakure! That Uchiha!? You're family are all billionaires! With that kind of money you could be building a million bars. I would kill to have billionaire parents who would take me on cruises and expensive vacations! Or even a huge mansion to hold parties with all my friend." Sakura said as she dreamed about living a luxurious life with her family and friends. Her mom would be given the highest quality of care. She would drive her around in a dependable car that wouldn't leave her high and dry on the streets. She would finally be able to pay pack all the kind things Ino and her friends has done for her.
Heck with all that kind of money Sakura would be able to pay for her studies to finally become a doctor like she had always dreamed of. One could only dream. Her mind finally settled back on the uchiha. "Why are you here spending your time with normal people like us?" Sakura asked in surprise as her eyes settled on his. The way she described his family made Sasuke sick to his stomach. They weren't really his family. They were money hungry voltures that destroyed dreams. They stomped on anything they didn't deem worthy and also put the company before the happiness of their own family. The mandatory meet and greets they forced him into with other snobby lobbyists. The extra hard curriculum he was placed in to learn how to run companies and manipulate people. He despised it. All of it. So when Sakura described them like being a dream come true celebrity family sasuke felt disgusted.
"What do you care? You're my employee not my friend! You have no right to ask about my private life." His voice was laced with poison as he spat out the words. Sakura's eyes went wide like she had just realized that she had stepped on a land mine. Yeah, a field of land mines is the way she would describe her relationships with the man in front of her. After getting over one hurdle she bumped into the next one. The road to reach him was a thorny and unforgiving one. "Sasuke apologize!" Naruto yelled in her defense. Sasuke gave him an annoyed glare as threw his towel at the sink. "I'm going to my office. I don't want any interruptions." He growled as he turned his back on them.
"Hey! come back here bastard!" Naruto said as he began to stand up from his seat. Sakura's hand came down on Naruto's shoulder causing him to turn his attention to the pinkette. "Naruto it's ok. He's right I crossed the line." She said in a gloomy voice. "Still he doesn't have to snap at you all the time." Naruto grumbled. With that Obito sighed and scratched the back of his head. "Sorry... if your new here you probably didn't know. Sasuke hates his family." Obito said as stared at the brown liquor in hid hand. "And he has a right too. Being up there isn't as fun as it sounds." He said in a sobren voice. Yes
"That's why I, Like Sasuke, decided I to spend more time with "normal people" as you Kindly put it." Obito dug a hand into his pocket and took out a cigarette. "Obito there's a no smoking policy in here." Kakashi warned him making the man roll his eyes. "Besides didn't you promise your wife you would stop smoking?" Kakashi said as he shot a pointed look at him. "Yeah yeah, I won't smoke ... don't tell her." He whimpered the last part as he put his cigarette back in his pocket. "Anyways the kid means well. He's smart and educated just like his brother... still he had a really bad falling out with his family and I've been the only link between them ever since." He explained as he leaned foward on the bar and laid his head in his palm.
"Truth is.. my brother has kinda been a shitty dad to him. I however see his potential and plan to nuture him. You see I feel his pain . I was a late bloomer and labeled the black sheep of the Uchiha. And well, when you're the black sheep of the family that owns billons of stocks in corporations your not exactly treated... well.. good. You get me?" He said as he tapped his index finger on the counter.
"Thats terrible ... well, I'm glad that I know this information now. That way I can tip toe around this and get back to making progress without upsetting him too much.."(though lately that seems to be the only I've been doing.) Sakura thought to herself. "Sakura didn't you say you had a shift at the hospital tonight? It's almost four." Kakashi said as he raised a brow. "Oh crap! I need to catch my bus. Please have him sign these papers so that I can send my friend to complete the mural." Sakura tapped the folder of documents as she got of the stool.
Obito raised his brow. "Miss, I'm sorry I didn't catch your name,  did you say you were going to catch a bus to work? That won't be necessary. I'll give you a ride." He said as he took out his phone. "Oh my apologies Mr.Uchiha, my name is Sakura Haruno I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier. And you don't have to trouble yourself with that sir." She said as she bowed. Obito shook his head and raised a hand. "As much as it strokes my ego when you call me that. I would prefer if you spoke more casually to me outside of work. Right now I'm just Obito." He said with a sparkling smile. Kakashi and Naruto rolled their eyes at him. "More like annoying old dude." Naruto huffed. "Yeah shut up Obi-TOE." Kakashi said making him and Naruto giggle as they high-fived.
Irk makes appeared on the dark haired man's face. "Oi! Shut up bakashi!" He said only aiming his anamosity towards the silvered haired man who only seemed to enjoy his jabs. They seemed to be on a better level of Bickering then him and Sasuke. It kinda reminded Sakura of how her and Ino would bicker sometimes. It was a little weird to see the company's COO drink and bicker like a school boy with his friends. Even with all the entertainment in front of her she was called back to reality when she recieved a couple of text from her friend Ino.
