Chapter 5

I rewrote this so many times I actually forgot about it.

"Ne nee-san, I know you tend to do weird things but—"

"....41....42....43....44....45"

"—what are you doing this time?"

"....46....47....48....49....50!"

"Nee-san I—"

"HA! I reached 50! Lets do some more. Kanae sit on my back!"

"S-sit? W-what are you—"

"Fine then, Shinobu on my back!"

"Yay!"

Shinobu then wobbled to Allie and sat on her back just like she instructed.

"And 51....52....53....54....55...."

"Up and down and up and down...."

Kanae only sighed and cheered on whatever they were doing, she looked to the left where the door was and she swore she saw her parents watching from the small split on the door.

Tsutomu and Hanako were watching them with amusement. Tsutomu even laughed when he saw Shinobu lose balance and Kanae panicking a bit, getting their attention. Hanako smacked him playfully for that.

This was a normal occurrence for them. With Allie doing something no one would even think of at her age and her younger siblings getting mixed up (she climbed the estate walls and succeeded in doing so). They could only watch.

Eight years ago, she was found by a newly wed couple, few months later the couple celebrated her birthday, the young parents were gifted with another daughter whom they named Kanae when she was born nine months later. Allie adored her and almost never left her side. Even if 3 years pass, the two were stuck together.

Though it seems they welcomed another bundle of joy. Purple tipped hair, lavender dragonfly-eyes with such a brash attitude. They named her Shinobu. The two found her precious when she smiled and giggled cutely, an unspoken agreement between Kanae and Allie to protect such smile was formed.

Their parents loved them dearly, their eldest however, is having this weird feeling  that.....all of this happiness would be cut short—

She can't explain why but all she knows is that she should cherish every bit of these moments they have as a family, it's weird, she doesn't want her parents to disappear yet here she was preparing herself if that day ever come—

Six years of age is such a tender time for a child, too bad the memories came back to remind her the world they live in.

Allie's high pitched scream was heard through the whole household followed with loud sobbing, alerting everyone. Hanako and Tsutomu quickly ran to their girls' shared room. They found a heart-wrenching sight. She was crying her heart out while holding onto Shinobu, who didn't know what to do besides to wrap her small arms in an attempt to comfort her sister, Kanae tried to call her parents but she also got caught in her sister's tight hug. 

They seemed to noticed their parents as they called out to them, worry etched in their faces, without another word, they embraced their girls, murmuring assuring words.

Days later, something was different.

Allie was different.

Not once did she throw a tantrum, not even a sad emotion was visible. She always wears a bright and warm smile that blinds anyone, her personality has was a tad bit louder, insults come kids of her age doesn't even faze her in the slightest bit. The adults didn't know whether be worried or let her. Her sisters though, were not bothered instead it made them admire her.
