~At what coast~

-Snape's POV-

I had never imagined having to lie to my daughter. My sweet darling daughter, her H/L H/C colored hair I found her at the doorstep of Hogwarts with a note saying

"This is Y/N, she was my daughter but I can not keep her, show her love and kindness, please protect her, I leave her to your safety. give her these rings when she starts school." I saw the three rings on a ribbon tied around the baby's hand. I don't think I've ever taken pity on a creature before.

I taught her everything I know about potions, spells, transfiguration, anything, and everything really. "Papa! Papa! Where are you?" She shouted in the house I groaned. "Inside voices, I am in the study y/n." She came running in, "look, papa, look what came in the mail." She squealed and I saw it was her Hogwarts letter. A small smile graced my face, "I see you got your letter good. Open it so we can see what needs to be arraigned." She excitedly but carefully opened the envelope.

She took a breath. "Looks like we are gonna need a lot of things." She hands me the letter, "I'll get my cloak so we can head out father." I nod and start to check the list.

I heard her excited steps rushing down the stairs and then a big thud followed by a breaking of glass. "I'm ok!" I heard a shout from the bottom of the stairs, I knew my daffodils were definitely not. "Don't touch!" I shouted knowing she was about to touch the glass, I got up and as I headed down the hall, I heard her walk up the stairs. I pick up the shattered glass on the floor, once finished cleaning I hear her steps coming down calmly this time.

I look up to see her with her head low. "I'm sorry. I will take any punishment you give me when we return father." She had been crying I could tell, I lifted her chin and kneeled in front of her "it is ok just really I wish you would be more careful, I do not wish for you to get hurt." She nods as I wiped her tears away, I give her a tight hug. "Now shall we, my dear?" She let a small smile crack and nodded.

I opened the door and she grabbed my hand. She knew we were gonna port there. She often got sick from it so she closed her eyes and squeezed my hand. I zap us to Diagon Alley, and she topples a bit. After she adjusted her balance she finally opened her eyes.

We walked to the stores necessary for her utilities. And the last thing they needed was her wand, she happily skipped over to Ollivander's she popped in and Ollivander came to see who she was and he smiled. "Young miss snape. Lovely of you to come to visit. Seems you are starting school now?" She nods and the man looks up at me nodding and I nod back.

"I know the perfect wand." He went to the back and got a box. Carefully opening it he pulled the wand, she gently took it and light flowed around her. "Perfect." She smiled and looked at me excitedly. "Did you see father?" I nod.

-Time skip your POV-

It was an amazing day and while he wasn't looking I found a perfect vase like the one I broke. So I bought it. Once we got home I saw our house elf and I smiled "dinner is ready." I smile and hang up my cloak, and nod "father you go ahead I need to go do something upstairs." He nods and I go upstairs with my boxes carefully, I set them all over the bed and I find the box that holds the vase, it's in a white box and I looked for some ribbon, I find some and tie the box with a big black bow made out of black ribbon I had.

I pick it up and I carefully go down the stairs. "dad umm I have a surprise for you." I say as I walk towards the dining room, he looks over at me to see me carrying the box. He got up and took the box placing it on the table. I smiled giddily. "go on dad, open it." he smiled and opened it, his hands covered his mouth.

he stared at it, I felt my smile slowly leave my face. "I thought you might like it, I wanted to buy you a new one because I broke the other one." I was rambling when I felt myself being pulled into my father's chest. He squeezed me gently and I wrapped my arms around him. "does this mean you like it?" he nods but somethings wrong.

"Papa, what's wrong?" I asked as I pulled away. "I have to tell you something." I nod and sit on my chair as he went to set up the vase. I feel so scared. What is he gonna tell me, a minute later he comes back with a small box that has a small parchment paper on it? He looked at me and set it on the table but I didn't touch it as I looked at him. "what is it father." there was an almost sad look on his face. "do you remember when you asked about your mother?" I nod "yes and you told me that it was a story for another time."

he looked down and sighed, "You're not my blood daughter, y/n I found you at the doorstep of Hogwarts, with these items." I felt all my memories with my father flash through my eyes. I got up and hugged him tightly, clinging onto him. "are you gonna give me back? please don't I promise I will behave, please don't make me go papa I love you please.'' I started crying. I didn't want to leave. this has always been my home. "no you're not gonna go anywhere. I won't let anyone take you from me y/n." he placed me on my chair

"if you read the letter you will know why your mother left you there." I carefully took the letter and read it. I look towards the box. "Are they?" he nods, pushing the small box to me. I carefully open it and see three golden rings with emeralds and diamonds and star designs, each one engraved with something engraved. The biggest ring had (father initials) the medium one has (mother's initials) and the last one has my name.

"I tried to search for them but I couldn't find them. I am not happy I didn't find them but I am glad at the same time. when you came along I thought you were a burden till I noticed I was the only one you wouldn't cry for, you would look at me with those big E/C orbs full of wonder when I mixed potions." he held my face in his hands "I won't ever let you go." I hugged him and soon felt tired, and soon enough I fell asleep.

in the arms of my father.
