Young Remus x hufflepuff reader

~soft as a bunny~

She was quite energetic she hopped up and down the halls of Hogwarts, almost everyone knew the energetic 3rd year especially the Marauder's mainly because a certain werewolf had a huge crush on the bunny like girl. She was hopping towards her table when her name was called she looked over to see Sirius black calling her over. "hi Sirius how may I help you?" her nose kind of twitched making Remus blush. "my brother Remus here has been having trouble with what was it? Talking to this special girl and he was wondering if he could practice with you." she nodded and smiled "of course Lupin."

She skipped to her table and sat down eating mostly vegetables with some treats like candy or a cookie. After dinner, she snuck away from the crowd and what she didn't notice was the four pairs of eyes that saw her. The boys well being their "smart" selves, well they followed her, she quickly dashed to the forbidden forest, and they quietly chased after her. "Guys I don't think we should be following her, it's not nice." Remus commented in a whisper, "shut it we are following your girlfriend, we need to know she's not hiding anything from us. well, technically you." they saw that she sneaked to Hagrid's cottage, "hello hagrid, came for my cloak." he nods and she hopped in and walked out with a little black cloak. it still touched the ground though, "what does she need a cloak for?" James asked while leaning a little bit too forward making him slip and make some rock's slip. Y/N snapped her head, but the boys had dragged James on time for her not to see them "well hurry before curfew." Hagrid handed her a basket, "thank you hagrid I promise to be back before curfew." she skipped away and giggled along the way to the Forbidden Forest, "what the bloody hell is she doing going in there?" Sirius whisper shouted.

"let's go." James was quick to run after her, "James no" Remus began only to have Sirius follow after "we must do what we must." Sirius spoke "Sirius get-" Remus sighed, and looked over at Peter. "they aren't going to come back right?" Peter shook his head no. "let's go before they do something stupid," they both ran after the two idiots, thye call friends once they saw them remus asked "hey what is she doing?" the two boys pointed and he looked over and saw her picking fruit's "oh there's a ripe one right there." she turned into a bunny and hopped into the bush, they all saw as a fruit rolled across the ground and she hopped towards it pushing it to the basket not noticing a snake slither to her, she turned back int her human form. she picked up the sweet fruit and placed it in the basket, she hummed and the snake was ready to attack, but Remus was not really about to let that happen he lunged forward and kicked the snake away. the sound of the snake hissing as it was thrown scared her and she looked to where it had come from, it came as quite a shock when she saw it was Remus. "Remus? what are you doing here?" she asked very surprisedly "well uh there was a snake and it was going to bite you so I kicked it." she giggled "oh dear thank you, Remus, but how did you know I was here?"

he looked to where his friends used to be and heard their retreating footsteps 'bloody idiots' "uh well you don't have to tell me Remus but would you like to help me finish picking some fruit's for Hagrid? you can be my knight protecting me from the beasts." he blushed and smiled she has always thought he was cute "um so do you often come here to pick these fruits?" She hummed in response "this is the only place I can get them, they taste amazing. Oh, would you like to try them?" "Uh no they are yours." She smiled and handed one to him, "don't worry there's still many for me." She picked two more and set them in the basket "well that should be enough for me and Hagrid, would you like to walk me to Hagrid's?" "Uh yes if I may." He picks up the basket for her and she smiles walking side by side, they talk about school and so many other things.

"Here we are," she knocks on Hagrid's cottage door, when he opened and saw Remus he was quite confused as to why he was there, but did not question it. "I brought the fruits." He nods and invites them inside, setting the basket down on the table Remus sits in a chair as y/n hangs her cloak up. "Would you like tea?" "Uh no Hagrid we just came here for the fruits and we will be on our way or else we will get detention if we get caught outside of curfew." She giggled and Remus nodded in agreement. "Very well let me get ya a bag, I know it's around here somewhere." Y/n shook her head and grabbed the satchel that he would often lend to her to take her fruits. "Ah yes thank you you have always been better at finding things."

As they left they walked to the school they talked, but she stopped walking remus noticed and stopped as well looking at her, a very sad look on her face. "I know you're a werewolf Lupin and I don't care if you think you are dangerous, I like you, even if every month you do turn into a creature, you can't control it, and I don't blame you, just know that I am here if you ever feel like you can't talk to your friends." She gently spoke to him, "how do you know about my state?" He was rather furious at the fact that she knew, "I was picking fruits and I just stumbled upon the four of you and I was in my bunny form that you saw earlier, you chased me but I hid in a burrow. I know you weren't in your right mind so I forgave you." Like string to fire he snapped and pushed her "you don't know anything so shut up!" She tripped and sprained her ankle making her squeak in pain, as he stomped away, but she didn't blame him for his reaction she would have reacted the same if she was in his situation. She tried to stand but it hurt too much and soon tears pricked at her eyes it hurt a little bit too much and she whimpered while trying to stand and walk.

As Remus walked away he started to feel bad for snapping at her and pushing her, especially since he saw that it hurt her when she fell. He's liked her so much ever since 3rd year, the more he walked the more guilt he felt. "Why did I react like that? All she wanted was to help, and I acted like a jerk, now how am I supposed to tell her I like her?" "My my Remus, you sure left a first impression on her didn't you?" He looked over to Sirius who was leaning on the wall next to him. "Wait where are Peter and James?" Sirius pointed to the window, "well they went to help her get to the infirmary, she sprained her ankle." "You guys saw?" Sirius gave a nod "we used the cloak, and I must say lupin you better come up with one hell of a way to say sorry, because you hurt her feelings." I glared at him "and who are you to tell me what to do? Your acting like you don't hurt girls feelings everyday." He sighed shaking his head "yeah I'm the playboy you are Remus the super sweet guy she really likes, she offered her help, obviously she likes you and forgives you for chasing her in the forbidden forest she's already forgiven you for pushing her too."

On the other end with y/n she was struggling to walk that is until two boys came up to her "hey L/n let us help you." She looked up at James and Peter, "what happened?" "Nothing really just sprained my ankle from tripping, I can be very clumsy sometimes." They nod and they helped her walk to the infirmary, where Madam Pomfrey was already fuming, "how did you get hurt especially at such a late hour? What were you doing with two boys at this time?" "Sorry madam I just went to Hagrid's and when I was coming back I sprained my ankle, really wish I had come back sooner though." She solemnly spoke Madam P sighed "it is alright now child here take this it might not taste great but it will fix you right up," y/n took it and drank it but didn't complain about the flavor "now rest up you'll be here all night." Y/n laid down and pretty soon dozed off.

~next day~

Y/n woke up feeling all better and stood up to head to class telling madam Pomfrey thanks a thousand time and rushing out so she can get refreshed, before class. She hopped along the corridors of Hogwarts and did as she had set out to do encountering teachers and making them smile as she did.

She finished doing what she needed and left to go to class, she arrived on time and smiled saying good morning to the teacher, as the day went on she proceeded as if it were normal which kind of upset Remus because she acted as if what he did yesterday never happened, but he had to apologize so he had to do something for her. During lunch she went out to the courtyard and sat by whomping willow tree it was a very unusual scene as it didn't hurt her, Remus came up behind her. "Hey y/n?" He said softly and she looked behind her seeing Remus surprised her but she smiled anyway, "hey Remus! Did you like the fruits?" He looked down at his feet and rubbed his neck "uh yeah I did, listen I just want to apologize for my behavior last night, I just reacted the wrong way." She stood up and walked to him "hey it's ok," she held his face in her hands softly "it was perfectly rational, and like I said I'll always be here when you need to talk plus I still like you for who you honestly are." He looked into her and saw pure honesty, making her smile and she pecked his lips, leaving him even more shocked than he already was, she giggled and hopped away.

"Well moony looks like you have become a man today." He heard his friends tease, "Oh shut it." "Moonies gotta girlfriend, before us, man we have to step up our game James." They all nod and walk away, and as time went by y/n and Remus lived their happily ever after.
